We’re Ready for YOU!
Finding An Agent That’s Right For You
And yet, if you’re a Gentile like me, it’s
humbling to remember that we came late to
the family. We may be the spiritual
descendants of Israel, but ethnically our
ancestors were the Egyptians, Philistines, and
Canaanites. The Bible divides the world into
two ethnic classes: Jews and Gentiles.
There’s Israel—God’s chosen people—and
then there’s everyone else. As Paul reminds
us, we Gentiles were part of the “everyone
else.”
We started out “excluded from citizenship
among the people of Israel,” living “in this
world without God and without hope”

(Ephesians 2:12). We were on the losing
side—we stood with the Egyptians when the
angel of death passed over; we fell with
Jericho when Joshua and the Israelites blew
their trumpets; and we saw our hero, Goliath,
crumple to the ground after receiving a
mortal wound.
But though we once “were far away from
God,” we “Gentiles are no longer strangers
and foreigners” but “are citizens along with
all of God’s holy people” (Ephesians
2:13,19). We outsiders are now on the
inside, a fact which should inspire
compassion for any stranger among us.

When we encounter people who feel out of place in
our world, we must patiently show them the ropes so
they can fit in. We should welcome them into our

from a long line of outsiders. Hospitality does not
make one a Christian, but Christians must be
hospitable.

A Fresh Look at
Timeless Truths
How can I prevent homesickness?
Being homesick is a natural, healthy emotion
that many children and adults experience from
time to time. You can better prepare your children by reassuring
them that they have your support as they cope with their feelings:
Summer 2013:
The Outsiders
After careful review and much prayer, we are excited to announce that new Bible
Exploration curriculum has been chosen for 2013. Junior and senior high campers will use
dynamic lessons produced by Youth360. Lessons will include The Build Up, which is a
creative, interactive activity that introduces the theme of the lesson; The Focus, which is the
heart of the lesson and contains the Bible Study section; and The Payoff which focuses on
driving home the application of the lesson’s biblical truth.

income? Camp Cherith is participating in an ongoing
fundraiser with Food Perspectives Inc that will give
you the opportunity to raise money for Camp Cherith
and earn money for yourself - JUST BY EATING!
As spring slowly arrives across Minnesota we are busy preparing for two fun-
filled boys weeks at Camp Cherith.
Last fall we hired
Tomlinson & sons, a local
contractor with a great
reputation for quality
building, to build our new
White House. The White

As a participant you will simply sign up to be
available for taste testing and indicate that North
Central Camp Cherith is the organization that you are
raising money for. You will periodically be called to
see if you qualify for a taste test. Testing centers are
located in many areas of the Twin Cities. You can
always turn down a testing opportunity if it does not fit
into your schedule. Your children can also test if they
qualify. Just add them to your account when you sign
up. Visit www.camp-cherith.com for more info.
Boys Week 1 will be the first campers to stay in the new White House. Memories that have been built
will be cherished for generations to come as we trust that the work that the Lord is doing in the lives
of campers is not just about one life but the impact those campers will have on a world hungry for
God’s love. This summer we begin building memories in a new building with the reality that God is
at work throughout the entire camp.
Camp Cherith is about providing a place where boys can grow in their faith and others can come to
know the Lord Jesus Christ for the first time. While every position at camp is essential, you need not
be at camp to be a part of the ministry. Please join with us in prayer each week this summer for God’s
hand of protection as well as for boys and girls to grow in their faith with a desire to follow and share
God with a world in need.
In Christ,

This year we have a number of young men
who will complete their BUILT training
during Boys Week 1 and will be counseling
during Boys Week 2. It is exciting to see
these young men grow in their faith and in
their leadership abilities with a desire to
serve the Lord. Some of these BUILT’s
have been a part of camp since they were
Pathfinders or Trailblazers.
Fall of 2012 at Camp Cherith began with
the demolition of the White House which
held many fond memories for both boys and
girls. Now, with summer approaching, it is
time to make new memories in our almost

 Explain what homesickness feels like (you could be lonely, have a tummy ache)
 Discuss what to do when they feel homesick(talk to a friend/counselor, write)
 Pack brief notes of encouragement for your child to read while he/she is away
 Help them understand these feelings will pass as they get involved in camp
 Write to your child (remember it will take a few days to get there)
Camp Cherith is a volunteer-run
organization. Everything from
programming, fundraising, site
management, and communications rely on
volunteers. This allows for many wonderful
opportunities for you to be involved in a
ministry that impacts. Whether you’re
interested in doing a one-time project or
becoming a member of a specific team,
we’d love to talk with you!
Call Ann at 612-615-5842 for more info!
Pathfinders and Trailblazers will also use new material
published by Desiring God, a ministry of John Piper.
Trailblazers will learn about the names and character
of God, and Pathfinders will learn they can place their
full confidence in God’s good promises for them.
Camp Cherith is committed to the belief that the Holy
Spirit works to produce faith in our hearts when we
hear the word of God. Whether a camper is reading
scripture for the first time or able to recite it by
memory, we know God will work to draw the child
closer to Him through the study of scripture. Please
pray for our campers and staff as they dig deep into the
word and walk in the light of God’s timeless truths this
summer!
