4. Vision For my
Family
From the beginning of 2016 Pastor Di has been speaking on vision
and purpose, which has triggerd great thought and conversation
for the whole church. We caught up with Desiree to see what vision
means to her.
Vision is one of the words that should be part of our daily language,
or if not at least in our thought pattern. Each and everyday can be a
building block that contributes to your vision. Some of us are living out
our personal visions currently, so each day is about maintaining what we
worked for whilst forward thinking toward the next phase of our vision.
I believe vision is something which evolves and can take on different
routes to get there.
wRITTEN BY Desiree Simpson-Cassidy
5. I had a vision of what I wanted his life to be like. I did my best to
make decisions in life that would be in sync with my vision.
I regularly had to do an inventory of my actions and my priorities.
How have the things I’ve done today contributed to the end goal?
Have I spoken words today that either feed my vision or destroy it?
These are all questions I have asked myself. Speak positive words
over your vision. Protect it at all costs through prayer.
“ My belief is your destiny is the ultimate plan that God has for us”.
The vision my husband and I have for our family is quite a simple
one. My vision is to raise Godly men who fly the banner of Christ
for all to see. My vision for this year may sound vague but I promise
you I don’t share it lightly. My vision is to impact more lives of those
closest to me. The challenge is to maintain the same exuberance
for impacting the world even when the reality doesn’t look like you
have had much impact at all. When your vision is in accordance with
God’s will, as you obey God will bring it to pass.
I have found that just because I envisage that the route to my
vision will take me on a certain course, that is not always the
route that God takes me .
As a teenager to be asked “what’s your
vision for your life? It was totally
daunting to me. I presumed vision was
simply career or ministry.
However at 15 or 16 I didn’t know what
my vision was. It’s open for debate but I
truly believe that vision and destiny are
closely linked but not necessarily the
same thing.
My belief is your destiny is the
ultimate plan that God has for you.
When my eldest son was a few weeks
old I wrote out a list of things I wanted for
his life.
6. 3 things
to do this
spring.
Spring is a time of rebirth, of things
coming alive and being renewed.
And in the spirit of this we have
created a short list of Spring
inspired things you could do!
1Spring Clean your life!
Yes spring time is a season to get cleaned up,
not only your house, but in every area of your life,
finances, house, clothes etc etc.
Ask yourself a few of these important
questions.
A. Am I really going to use/wear that?
B. Do I have enough saved for a rainy day?
C. What nagative things do i need to stop
doing?
2Appreciate Nature
Spring time is when nature really shows off, so go
and appreciate what we are blessed to have, take a
walk around Sefton or Princes park and just see how
good an artist God is. Bring nature into your house,
buy some flowers for you or for someone else! Just
take a moment and appreciate Gods masterpiece,
the world! (Disclaimer: Unless you have hay fever,
stay away! Appreciate nature online!)
3Invest in yourself!
I don’t mean go and buy more shoes to refill
your cupboard. As in what do you love to
do? What do you want to do, what do you
want to learn?
You are fearfully and wonderfully made and
God invested in you through Jesus Christ,
so you are so worth it! Buy those books to
challenge you, take on that new skill,
become the best you, you can be!
7. 01
It is a wonderful privilege to be a
mother and I’m ever aware of the
weighty responsibility that comes
with raising a child in a world which
can often be scornful of such
notions as integrity and faith in
Christ.
Then there’s the instinctive
expectation that comes from our
children, (something we perhaps
once had off our own mothers), that
mothers possess infinite wisdom,
have an unmatched ability to soothe
any ailment with a simple kiss and
that we can, unfazed, do twenty
things at once!
And if a mother’s love for her child
can be such that it catches the
breath, how much more profound is
God’s love for our children, for me
and for you? Ephesians 3:18

of mothers

y 4 year old daughter once
asked me, who do I love more,
her or God? What a question!
Besides the ‘moon and back’
several times metaphor, I chose
to explain how, by her very
existence I had become a better
person and that my love for her
often catches my breath, it is
immeasurable.
I went on to say that my love
for and gratitude to God is
infinite, because His love for me
is unfailing and He is my
constant source of strength.
God knew her before I knew
her, He had knitted her together
in my womb and chosen me to
be her mother.
8. Our Main GOAL:
Glorify god & make Disciples!
“When God reaches out to love us, He is
attempting to start a cycle that will bless,
not only us, but also through us to many
others”.
So many people these days
are dissatisfied with life,
including Christians, but did
you know dissatisfaction does
not come from your
circumstances but from the
absence of purpose in your
life.
Our main purpose is to glorify
God, and to make disciples.
In Mark 16:15 Jesus
instructed us to go into all the
world and make disciples.
When we made Jesus Lord of
our lives God poured His love
into our hearts by the Holy
Spirit (Romans 5:5).
So the life of a Jesus follower
is all about His love and
relationships, so we can have:
Pastor Di’s blog
1. A personal relationship
with the Father.
2. A relationship with one
another that is connected
to His family.
3. A relationship with the
world that reaches to
neighbours and nations.
9. 01
But it has to start with a love for God’s house - The
Church. Jesus said, zeal for Your House has consumed
Me (John 2:17).
We make a difference to the world around us by working
for something bigger than ourselves - the vision to build
the House of God - His Church. And when you do, it en-
thuses your spirit, inspires your creativity and gives your
life purpose!
We make the choice to be planted in the House (not
merely a visitor!) - Because when a group of people are
consumed by love for God’s House you will be amazed
what a difference they can make!
10. One Easter a few years ago, I
remember seeing an interview
with Archbishop Desmond
Tutu. He was asked how – in
the appallingly dark days of the
struggle against apartheid –
he maintained hope. His reply
was characteristically profound
and joyful.
“Is there anything more
hopeless than a young man
dead on a cross on a Friday?
A sight so horrendous that
even God the Father turns
away and cannot look upon it.
Every Day Easter PeopleGuest Writer: David Waters
But just when you think darkness has done its worst …
VROOOOOOOM!! Easter happens! THAT is why I never lost hope.”
As Christians it can be easy to forget that we are Easter people –
called to live lives defined by the cross of Christ. I’m sure we’ve all
come across people who epitomise the phrase “living for the week-
end”.
Perhaps we’ve had times ourselves when all we want is to just get
through the week and count down the days to Friday.
But as Christians we are living for THE weekend, that Friday to Sun-
day 2000 years ago that changed the course of history.
And I say live for the weekend very deliberately because sometimes
we can concentrate only on one day. At those times when everything
seems to be going our way it may be easy to focus on the joy of
Easter Sunday whereas if we are going through trials or suffering
perhaps we can only look as far as the God who suffered too.
11. 01
So let us live for the weekend – defined
by the love and victory of the cross. Let
us not give up meeting together to for-
ever be reminded of this truth, let us not
neglect our prayer and Bible study as we
strive to live every day as Easter people.
Perhaps there is a verse or some words
from a song that we carry with us into
each day. For me, though I falter and fall I
will remember the following this Easter.
“Love so amazing, so divine, demands
my soul, my life, my all.” [Isaac Watts]
But the reality is the two cannot be separated. We cannot have
Friday without the Sunday and vice versa. It is a marvellous mystery
that the God who made the world should share our suffering and
should die to save us sinners but to finish on Friday is only part of
the story.
Our faith is one that professes not only suffering shared but suffering
transformed and death and sin defeated by the triumph of the
resurrection.

Profession: Recruitment Manager
What do you love about being on sound?
Doing sound is fun, there is always something going on and it’s great during
worship because you can really get into it. It’s also amazing to hear and know

What skills do you need to be able to work on the sound team?
The main thing you need is to listen well. There are loads of guys in the church
who have been doing this for a while so you just have to listen and take what
they say on board. You also need to have a good ear for the music, but we can
teach you that.
Who are you looking for to join the team?
We are looking for anyone who is excited about music and loves getting
involved. The rest we will train you to do.
We have the following vacancies in the media team:

What do you love about fueled?
I have been going to Fueled now for six years and can honestly say
its has been some of the best times of my life so far. I enjoy going to
Fueled simply because it is a fun new way of experiencing
Christianity. Fueled is a fantastic way of making friends, I’ve met most
of my friends through Fueled and would always recommend it to
others.
My favourite thing about Fueled would have to be the worship. It’s
unique, energetic and you just get into it as soon as the music starts
(sort of like Mumford and Sons). For me Fueled is a great way for
mixing with others and is a great opportunity for young people to be
able to experience God and Christianity. The moment you walk into
Fueled there’s always a friendly atmosphere. It is such a great way
to start the weekend. In the future I definitly would like to see Fueled
expand more, not only to be able to make new friends but to make
the Fueled family bigger.

What is fueled?
Fueled is a youth group that I have been going
to for nearly 8 years now. It is a fun place for
youths to gather on a Friday evening and enjoy
playing games and learning about God. Within the next five years I
see Fueled growing in numbers year by year which could therefore
make us change rooms/venue because of the amount of people we
will receive.
Fueled for me is a place that I can enjoy worshiping God with a lot of
other youths and just relaxing and making new friends. What I most
enjoy about Fueled is the atmosphere that is created with the team
and the youths who come in to the building every Friday night.
