When it comes to professionalism, the author's initial perspective was that it is extremely important but many people do not act professionally. Their perspective changed to developing a new understanding of what society believes professionalism to be, such as requiring extensive schooling to be considered a profession. Regarding expectations of teachers, the author's perspective remained the same - that teachers are responsible, caring, motivational, and knowledgeable, but society places too high expectations on them and does not appreciate their work. Finally, about "Education for All", the author initially believed governments do not support this, but their perspective changed to realizing the US education system, while not perfect, provides free public education and needs fine-tuning to ensure each child gets needed
