Seeing is believing: using video as a promotional vehicleMarc Hartog
Video is the most powerful way to engage a social audience, tell a story, and sell yourself. We talk through some of our experiences and host a small experiment...
The Internet - social in particular - is full of ways to put ourselves in danger. Check this out and learn how to stay safe on social media.
This is the slideshow of my talk during the Manila Social Media Day 2013.
10 myths about WordPress Multisite and why they're false. The text is a a bit odd in places - entirely Slideshare's fault, not mine! Links from these slides are on my blog at rachelmccollin.com
Day 3 at IBM InterConnect: Innovating a #NewWayToWork
As we walked around the conference floor on day 3 of
IBM Interconnect we kept overhearing the same phrase- "I can't believe it's already Wednesday!"- and to be honest neither could we. Days 1 & 2 flew past and, as it turned out, so did Day 3. Our Influencers used the morning to attend sessions and also engage in conversations with new and old friends.

Ben Betts, Managing Director of HT2 Ltd, discussed the use of social in the induction process at our recent event 'LearningNow: Induction strategies that work'.
Strategic planning. You know you should be doing more of it. But the way you normally do it requires lots of up-front time to do and lots of follow-up time to get buy-in. And frankly, you have trouble with the buy-in part. All that trouble, minimal follow-through.
Great strategic planning processes are lightweight and participatory. This is nice-to-have for organizations, and it's critical for networks, where you don't have the benefit of hierarchy to influence its behavior. Networks will do what they do.
In this Leadership Learning Community webinar, I describe how to do strategic planning for networks. I draw heavily from my experience leading the open strategic planning process for the Wikimedia movement, which drew over 1,000 participants and led to a movement-wide shift in focus on increasing reach and participation in developing countries. I share how you can leverage these types of processes for both your network and your organization
Jane Hart, founder of the Centre for Learning and Performance Technologies (C4LPT), gave a presentation at Epic's LearningNow: performance support event in London on 28th November 2013. Jane's talk explored the importance of social and collaborative learning, including the rise of search engines and social media platforms such as Twitter when it comes to employees seeking performance support. This event, hosted in conjunction with Towards Maturity, looked at performance support as an e-learning and training aid, including how we can improve performance support, how people are finding it already and why it is so important to clients.
Society 3.0 abundance by technology february 4th 2020 BangladeshJurjen de Vries
Slowly but surely in our society we are shifting from values that we express in money to abundance. For example, consider Wikipedia or some co-working spaces. But it is also possible with self-driving cars for transport and 3D printers for building homes. We take you on a journey of abundance by technology.

Artificial intelligence (AI) offers new opportunities to radically reinvent the way we do business. This study explores how CEOs and top decision makers around the world are responding to the transformative potential of AI.
The case study discusses the potential of drone delivery and the challenges that need to be addressed before it becomes widespread.
Key takeaways:
Drone delivery is in its early stages: Amazon's trial in the UK demonstrates the potential for faster deliveries, but it's still limited by regulations and technology.
Regulations are a major hurdle: Safety concerns around drone collisions with airplanes and people have led to restrictions on flight height and location.
Other challenges exist: Who will use drone delivery the most? Is it cost-effective compared to traditional delivery trucks?
Discussion questions:
Managerial challenges: Integrating drones requires planning for new infrastructure, training staff, and navigating regulations. There are also marketing and recruitment considerations specific to this technology.
External forces vary by country: Regulations, consumer acceptance, and infrastructure all differ between countries.
Demographics matter: Younger generations might be more receptive to drone delivery, while older populations might have concerns.
Stakeholders for Amazon: Customers, regulators, aviation authorities, and competitors are all stakeholders. Regulators likely hold the greatest influence as they determine the feasibility of drone delivery.
