Flowers and cones play an important role in plant reproduction. Flowers contain petals and a central pistil surrounded by stamens that produce pollen. During pollination, pollen moves to the pistil's stigma, allowing for fertilization and seed growth inside fruits. Cones also form seeds following pollination. Plants rely on both wind and animal pollinators to transfer pollen between flowers and reproduce. A lack of pollinators could prevent plant reproduction.
