3.4.4 STANDARD /
REGULATION
Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (KeTSA) through Suruhanjaya
Tenaga (ST) regulates your electricity tariff under a framework called
Incentive Base Regulation (IBR) to ensure that consumer enjoy reliable
and secure supply of electricity at a reasonable price.
TNB will allow to reflect changes (either increase or reduce) in fuel and
other generation-related costs in the electricity tariff every 6 months.
This review is to reflect up-to-date changes in cost of generating
electricity. This is mainly due to the changes in global fuel prices that
fluctuate regularly.

3.4.4 STANDARD /
REGULATION
Determination of the regulatory period to ensure the tariff revision is
carried out periodically and consistently;
Determination of the regulated and non-regulated business for the
utility and the separation of accounts;
Determination of financial performance and technical efficiency
targets of the utility;
Implementation of the imbalance cost pass-through mechanism to
enable the recovery of actual fuel-related and other generation
specific costs; and
Implementation of efficiency sharing mechanism to provide the utility a
continuous and sustained incentive to pursue cost efficiencies in every
regulatory period.
