IDLA Margins
1. The margin area is the space around the edges of the page. The gray color on the ruler
of your word processor indicates the margin area.
To view the ruler on your screen, go to the “view” menu and click the checkbox next
to “ruler.”
The next slides will show you how to change Margins
3. Step 2: Choose “custom margins”
Notice that the margins are currently
set to the “normal” setting, which is 1
inch margins on all sides. There may
be times, however, that you need
more space to type on the page. In
this case, the “narrow” setting will
change all margins to ½ inch on all
sides. You can choose “custom
margins” to set the margins manually.
4. Step 3: Change the top
margin to 1.5 inches. The
left and right margins
should remain at 1 inch. Go
ahead and keep the bottom
margin at 1 inch as well.
