This document compares the approaches to corporate social responsibility (CSR) taken by Chinese multinational corporations (MNCs) and Tata Group, an Indian conglomerate. Chinese MNCs saw CSR as a regulatory exercise rather than a strategic priority, focusing on minimum compliance. In contrast, Tatas have believed in contributing to the societies they operate in.
