The document outlines three key challenges facing the area and world: poverty, food insecurity, and environmental degradation. 1. Proposed actions.
The three challenges we are faced with in my area and other areas around the world are poverty, food insecurity and
environmental degradation. The population in my country and the world at large is increasing at a very fast rate . The
increasing population in the world is putting a lot of pressure on the few resources we have . The agricultural land is
becoming small and the soils are becoming infertile in some parts of the world due to over cultivation, deforestation and
poor farming methods. 90% of the total population in my country derive their income from agriculture. Many of the
farmers in my area are still using a hand hoe for digging and planting poor quality seeds. So they produce little crops and
as a result there is ever increasing food insecurity and poverty. There has been massive deforestation in different parts
of my country and the world at large. This is causing some parts of the world to turn into a desert and it is causing global
warming resulting into increased temperature which is not good for humanity and the planet earth. We have formed a
community based organization to help solve the above problems facing us the world. We have created a green map of
Tororo in partnership with Green map systems. The Green map system is a globally connected, locally adaptable frame
work for community sustainability. Green maps charts the sites of environmental significance in urban and rural areas
around the world. Each map is created locally in a unique way by map making teams every one uses collaboratively
designed Green map icons to identify, promote and link their home’s ecological resources along with the places that

conservation and sustainability. we have taken a small a small action of helping farmers increase crop production by
providing tractor plough services and improved quality seeds. The use of a hand hoe and planting of poor quality seeds
makes farmers to produce very little crops and this has resulted into food insecurity and poverty. We need to take big
actions as C:F community and the entire world so that we can eliminate food insecurity and poverty. We need to use
big and medium tractors to help farmers produce enough crops. we are also raising tree seedlings of wood lot, agro
forestry and fruit tree species. We do distribute the seedlings to the community to plant and this will help restore our
environment , generate income and food for man. If all the C:F community should raise tree seedlings of wood lot, agro
forestry and fruit species and then people plant many trees, the world would change positively and humanity will live a
happy life. The environment will be conducive and soils will restore ifs fertility and humanity will produce enough crops.
A worse disaster is a head of us if we do not take collective actions now!

3. Out come of my actions.
My actions of providing farmers with tractor plough services and improved quality seeds will help farmers
increase crop production and farmers who have been producing little food as a result of using a hand hoe and
planting poor quality seeds will be able to produce more crops. As a result there will be food security and
poverty will be reduced. When more food is produced , the prices of food will reduce. This will be of great
importance to the people of Uganda and if all C:F community can take the above actions, then people will
produce enough food to feed the increasing population of the world. The second activity we are undertaking is
to raise tree seedlings of wood lot, agro forestry and fruit species. We distribute the seedlings to the community
to plant we have also planted some trees along our feeder road in our village. If many trees about one million
can be planted in Tororo then the environment of Tororo will be so conducive for humanity. Agro forestry trees
help restore the fertility of the soils, woodlot help provide fuel wood and timber in the long run and fruit trees
provide food and income to the people . Generally this activity will help restore our environment, reduce global
warming and generate income to the people. So if every person in the world could plant 100 trees minimum
then we would have a very health environment for humanity to live in. if we create many green sites which are
environmentally friendly and we advocate for the removal of unfriendly green sites then Tororo will be a better
place for humanity to live in.. If all C:F community and the whole world could create a green map of their
villages, towns or cities and then work towards the promotion of environmentally friendly green sites then the
whole world would be a better place to live and we would not think of having environmental disaster in few
years to come.
