Central Model School in Lahore, Pakistan was established in 1883 and currently has over 5,000 students. The school was originally located in the building of anarkali girls high school before being upgraded and moved to its current location in 1891. It has served as a laboratory school and was granted autonomous status in 1990, having its own board of governors. The campus currently covers 23,155 square meters with 96 rooms, 2 halls, a library and 7 laboratories.

Central Model School is a school in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. At present more than
5000 students are studying in the school and Mr.Khair Muhammad khan is the senior
headmaster.
History
Central Model School was established in 1883 as middle school in the building of
anarkali girls high school, opposite the Punjab University senate hall. This middle school
was upgraded to high level in 1888 and shifted to a portion of central training college.
The space in the central training college being insufficient, the building of municipal
board was acquired and after extension the school was shifted to the present building in
1891.
Junior classes were abolished in 1920 by Mr. H.T. Nolton, the then headmaster but
were later on restored in 1940 by the first Muslim headmaster of the school Mr. M.A.
Makhdumi.
Central model school served as laboratory school for central training college from 1891
to 1991.
The school was granted autonomous status in 1990, having its own board of governors.
Campus
At present the school spreads over an area of 23 155 sq. Meters, with a covered area of
14 139 sq.meters. It has 96 rooms, 2 halls, 1 library and 7 laboratories and workshops.
Former headmasters
Mr. Mohan Lal Bhalla was the first Indian to serve as headmaster from 1929 to 1940.
Mr. M.A. Makhdoomi was the first Muslim headmaster from 1940 to 1947.
Mr. M.A. Bari, Mr. Ibrahim Shamim and Mian Mahmood Ali also served this great
institution till 1959, when Mr. Ghulam Nabi Butt (1959-1970) carried the school to new
heights.
