CE310 | Unit 6 Assignment Guidelines
In this week’s Assignment, you will be creating a newsletter
that you can print out and possibly use for training or
professional development! The topics you will be addressing
include comprehension and fluency in reading, as well as
professional presentation as an early professional educator.
Be sure to review the Readings and the videos before
completing this Assignment. You will need to use what you
learned from the unit resources in this Assignment, and of
course, be sure to include them as references.
Begin by clicking the “Assignment” icon in the unit and read
the Assignment instructions. You may want to print them
out so you can refer to them as you complete your newsletter.
A newsletter template is provided for you to use in the Doc
Sharing section of class. Follow the directions in the
newsletter directions and type your work directly on the
newsletter.

Make sure you do not commit plagiarism by always using your
own words — make sure you do not copy word-for-word
from any of your resources. Also, be sure to include your
references. Refer to the resources in Doc Sharing for APA
format.
When you are finished, save your newsletter and upload it to the
Unit 6 Assignment Dropbox as an attachment.
Strategies for Building Comprehension and Reading Fluency
This Assignment assesses the following course outcome(s):
CE310-1: Demonstrate strategies for teaching fluency and
comprehension.
GEL-8.2: Use principles of sound reasoning.
PC-3.4: Demonstrate professionalism in a variety of situations.
For your Unit 6 Assignment, you will prepare a newsletter that
explains the importance
of comprehension and fluency in the reading process and also
shares a variety of
strategies for developing these areas as well as presenting
yourself as a professional in
the field. Use the Unit 6 readings and videos to help you
develop your newsletter. You
can use the Assignment template provided in Doc Sharing or
create your own. If you
are using the template, be sure to replace any text in red with
your own work. If you are
currently working in the educational field, you may want print
copies of the brochure to
share with your colleagues or with parents of young children
who are learning to read.
Be sure to format your brochure to include the following key
points:
1. A brief introduction to the reading process defining the terms
―comprehension‖
and ―fluency‖ and an explanation of why comprehension and
fluency are so
important to successful reading (Be sure to explain this in

  • 1. CE310 | Unit 6 Assignment Guidelines In this week’s Assignment, you will be creating a newsletter that you can print out and possibly use for training or professional development! The topics you will be addressing include comprehension and fluency in reading, as well as professional presentation as an early professional educator. Be sure to review the Readings and the videos before completing this Assignment. You will need to use what you learned from the unit resources in this Assignment, and of course, be sure to include them as references. Begin by clicking the “Assignment” icon in the unit and read the Assignment instructions. You may want to print them out so you can refer to them as you complete your newsletter. A newsletter template is provided for you to use in the Doc Sharing section of class. Follow the directions in the newsletter directions and type your work directly on the newsletter. template Make sure you do not commit plagiarism by always using your own words — make sure you do not copy word-for-word from any of your resources. Also, be sure to include your references. Refer to the resources in Doc Sharing for APA format.

Strategies for Building Comprehension and Reading Fluency This Assignment assesses the following course outcome(s): CE310-1: Demonstrate strategies for teaching fluency and comprehension. GEL-8.2: Use principles of sound reasoning. PC-3.4: Demonstrate professionalism in a variety of situations. For your Unit 6 Assignment, you will prepare a newsletter that explains the importance of comprehension and fluency in the reading process and also shares a variety of strategies for developing these areas as well as presenting yourself as a professional in the field. Use the Unit 6 readings and videos to help you develop your newsletter. You can use the Assignment template provided in Doc Sharing or create your own.
