• Origin: Northeast Mediterranean
• Annual plant
• Mostly reproduced by seed
• Grown throughout the world
• Can be grown off season

3. CLIMATIC REQUIREMENT
• Moist cool temperature
• Optimum temperature: 18 Degree C
• During maturity stage temperature should not exceed 20 degree C
• Cauli flower is sensitive to low temperature and frost

4. SOIL
• Loam to clay soil
• Fertlie soil
• Well-drained yet moisture-retentive
• pH: 6-7

5. LAND PREPARATION
• Farm yard manure prior one month of sowing
• Ploughing followed by harrowing
• Make ridges and water well
• Ridges distance: 75cm

6. SOWING TIME
Early Crop
• Sowing time: May-August
• Transplanting: Early July-September
Late Crop
• Sowing time: September-october
• Transplanting: November

7. SOWING METHOD
• Dibbiling and transplanting method
• Sown in Rows
• Seed depth: 1-2cm
• R-R distance: 75cm
• P-P distance: 45cm

8. NUTRITION
• FYM: 15-20tonns/ha
• Nitrogen: 45kg/ha
• Phosphorus: 35kg/ha
• Potash 25kg/ha
• One dose of nitrogen at land preparation, one at flowering and last after
flowering
• Two doses of potasium during land preperation and one after flowering

9. IRRIGATION
• Ist at transplanting
• 4 days interval
• After head formation weekly irrigation

• Squeeze the head and make sure it's firm throughout
• Cut each cabbage head at its base with a sharp knife
• Place the produce in shade immediately
• Medium sized head 15-20cm
