Pandas are black and white bears that live in the mountains of China, where only around 1,000 remain in the wild. They eat a mainly bamboo-based diet and females typically breed every 2-3 years, giving birth to twin cubs though usually only raising one in their den of leaves or hollow tree. Pandas are currently endangered with conservation efforts underway including a pair housed at Adelaide Zoo that were named Wang Wang and Funi.
