Red pandas live solitary lives in forests of China, eating bamboo, fruits, eggs, and roots. There are only about 10,000 red pandas left in the world. If red pandas went extinct, bamboo would likely overgrow without their consumption, negatively impacting other animals by reducing food and habitat availability. Red pandas play an important role in their ecosystem by controlling bamboo populations.
