Catalan Cuisine
Catalan food, like Spanish food on the whole is
excellent

Catalan food is very healthy and is part of the
famed Mediterranean diet that is rich in beans,
pulses, fish, meats, vegetables and olive oil.
One of our typical dishes to eat although
incredibly simple is “pà de pages torrat amb
tomàquet, oli d’oliva i all” (traditional bread that
is toasted, rubbed with olive oil, garlic and fresh
crushed tomatoes).

We normally eat it
with ham or cheese !
How to make “Pa Amb Tomàquet”

• Grill or toast bread slices and serve at the table hot. It
might be best to put them in a bread basket and cover
them with a linen towel to keep the bread warm.

• Rub toasted bread with the garlic halves

• Next, rub the tomato halves into the toast.

• Drizzle the slices with decent olive oil to taste, then
  sprinkle with some sea salt.

• Typical sausages, beans, garlic and parsley. It’s delicious
  !!
“Esqueixada de bacallà”

• An exquisite salad elaborated with cod, tomatoes,
onions, olives, hard boiled eggs and peppers.
Sauces

• We also have typical sauces, like “Allioli” which consist
  on eggs, garlic and oil.

• And “Romesco” with tomatoes,
onions, peppers, chilli, almonds
and hazelnuts.
