Overview
The opening of theWizzardingWorld of Harry Potter was one if not thee most anticipated opening in our 20
year history. As our guest walk through the gates of Hogsmede they will find themselves fully immersed in Harry’s
World. From the shops and restaurant of Hogsmede to a faithful reproduction of Hogwarts Castle. These
reproductions will give our guest an adventure of a lifetime. In Hogwarts Castle our guest can walk the halls, visit
Dumbledore’s office, see the Defense against the Dark Arts class room, Gryffindor Common Room, and even see
many of the characters from the books. At the end of the line is the award winning groundbreaking ride the
Forbidden Journey. With a combination of live action and video technology, it allows our guest to have a personal
adventure with the students of Hogwarts. As members of the Park Services Night team our job is vital to the success
of Park Operations. While we always strive for perfection, with the spot light brightly lit on theWizzardingWorld it
is even more important that we achieve perfection. While you will be under tougher standards and deadlines you will
not be working alone. A fellow experience team member will be with you to ensure the high standards that are
expected are archived. You should feel a since of pride in being selected. Not everyone can work in this island. The
fact that you have been selected means that a supervisor has scene a detail strong work ethic that make you the perfect
person for the job. So congratulation on your selection and enjoy your time working in Hogwarts Castle.
Getting Started
You will see your name on the route sheet listed as Forbidden 1 or Forbidden 2. There is no
significance to being either person. You will be sharing the responsibilities. If you are not
familure with the person you are working with make sure you have the supervisor introduce
you. This team member is more experienced and should be relied on for information on how
best to clean the venue. However your number one priority is to make sure the Castle is show
ready for the public. Nothing should take away from the objective. If anything is not allowing
you from completing your task is should be reported to a supervisor.
Materials Needed:
• Forbidden Journey Checklist
• Forbidden Journey J4 Key (If no key is found make sure you have one)
• 4 Mops
• 6 Rags
• You may also needTriad # 6, Glace 2, Good Sent, Murphy Oil, Dust Rags, Paper
Towel, and Latex gloves.
Hogwarts Castle
Hogwarts Castle is located inside theWizzardingWorld of Harry Potter at the top of the hill. It is
best to enter through the employee break room located on the side of the castle. The door is marked. As
you walk in you will see two sets of lockers and a seating area. The janitor’s closet is located on the left hand
side next to the lead office. Open the door and ensure you have the supplies you need to complete your
work. When you are finished you will see two doors in the back of the room. The first door on the left is to
theTech work area. The second door goes to theVIP stairway. Take theVIP stairway to the second floor
where the second janitor closet is located. Again make sure you have the supplies you need and discusses
with you fellow team member what responsibilities you are each responsible for. The following is one way
of cleaning the castle. It is by no means the only way of completing it. As long as the standards are upheld
do what ever make you comfortable.
Auto Scrubbing
The Auto Scrubber is a key resource used to give a deep clean to the concrete floor and a major
time saver. It should only be used on the concrete floor of the castle. It is located in the 2nd
floor Janitor’s
closet.
PreWash Check:
• Make sure it had been plugged in from the night before. If not turn on machine to
make sure you have enough battery life to clean the floors.
• Check all areas of the machine to make sure all the tanks, hoses, switches, wheels,
and squeegee is undamaged. Any damage should be reported to a supervisor.
• Also check the reservoir located on the front of the machine and trap on the top of
the machine. With the trap make sure it was cleaned out from the night before.
• After checks are completed useTriad # 6 to fill the reservoir in the front of the
machine to the top.
• Once the reservoir is fill put the lid on both reservoir and trap unplug machine
wrap up the cord and push machine out the door at the end of the hall.
Turing on the Machine:
• Looking at the back of the machine you will see a foot petal on the right hand side.
Manipulate the petal until the scrubber pad is on the ground.
• Next to the wrapped up power cord is a black lever to bring the squeegee down to
the ground. Move the lever to the right and down to do so.
• On the control pad you will see two switches and one black lever.
• Flip both switches up to activate the vacuum and scrubbing pad. Lift the lever half
way up to turn the water on.
• You are ready to start auto scrubbing.
Scrubbing Route:
• As you exit the hall way you will emerge on the loading platform for the ride. On
your left are three lanes of Q ing. Take the line on the right all the way past the test
seat to the end of the line. At the end you will see a door on your right hand side
push is open and take the elevator to the first floor
• On the first floor you will find two Q lanes, two carpets, two sets of locker bays,
and the main entrance to the castle.
• Ensure you auto scrub as much of the floor as the machine will allow you to do.
• It is important to push forward and not backwards to ensure unnecessary ware on
the machine.
• When you have finished the first floor take the elevator to the 3rd
floor. You will
emerge in a hallway that branches off in two directions.
• Auto Scrub as much of the floor as possible.
• Once you have finished use the elevator to go to the second floor not 2R.
• At this point you should be out ofTriad and in need of being empty.
• Go back to the 2nd
floor janitor closet and back the machine into the closet so you
can empty the machine via the black hose with a cap.
• Lift up the plastic cover and use the hose to clean out the trap of debris.
• After the trap has been cleaned out refill the machine ofTriad # 6.
• Push the machine back out and auto scrub the 2nd
floor including the open area of
Child Swap, loading area and top Q of the Greenhouse.
Proper Cleaning and Storage:
• After you have finished using the machine make sure you clean out theTrap.
• After all the debris is out of the trap use Good Scent to get the trap as clean as
possible.
• Leave the plastic top of so it can dry
• Back the machine up to the wall and plug the machine in so it can charge.
• Clean off the outside of the machine.
Child Swap:
• Fill up a mop bucket ofTriad # 6 and get a mop. Also get a butt pan and broom.
• Head to child swap to move the benches so you can pan and broom any left over
debris
• Mop the sides and area covered by the benches.
• Wipe down benches with Murphy oil soap if needed
• Clean Glass windows if hand prints are visible
• Remove gum from all surfaces.
Fitch’s Stairway and Loading Area:
• The stairway located next to the loading area goes to the store.
• Place the butt pan at the bottom and take your broom and sweep off
every stair making sure to get them all as clean as possible.
• Sweep it down to the landing and sweep up all debris from floor
including from floor joints.
• After you have finished mop landing and stairwell
• When that is completed mop all areas of the loading area not
covered by the auto scrubber.
VIP Stairway and Hallway:
• Empty your mop bucket and get a brand new mop
• Fill your bucket with cold water. Chemical can not be used on any
of the red tile floors of the castle so as not to destroy the wax on the
floor.
• Exit out the door and leave the bucket on the landing. Take the mop
up to the 3rd
floorVIP hallway.
• Mop the entire hallway and stairwell to the first floor.
• Empty out the bucket and take the mop and bucket to the first floor
break room.
• This should take you to lunch.
Sweeping and Mopping
While one person is using the auto scrubber the other person will be sweeping and mopping all
three floors of the castle.
Materials Needed:
• Butt Pan and Broom
• Mop and Bucket filled withTriad #6
• Scrapper
Responsibility:
• You job is to Pan and Broom all debris not picked up by the auto scrubber.
• Mop all areas that are not covered by the auto scrubber including wall
edges, and in between q rails
• CleanThree of the 4 stairways of the castle
• Remove gum from all surfaces.
Route:
• As the other person is using the auto scrubber head up to the third floor to
sweep and mop the floor edges.
• Head to the 1st
then 2nd
floor of the castle to sweep de gum and mop wall
edges and between q rails.
• You will also have to mop the center line from loading area to test seat as
auto scrubber will not be able to go down that line.
• When you have finished sweep and mop the stairways. One leads from the
first floor to Dumbledore office the second goes from the first floor to the
Gryffindor common room and the third is on the third floor.
• This should take you up till lunch.
Team Member Break Room
The break room is relatively easy to clean. However by the two of you splitting up the
responsibilities you can finish and a short period of time. One person can clean the two employee
restrooms and tech restroom located in the tech hallway. When cleaning the bathrooms make sure you clean
the toilet, sink, mirror, and floor. Also refill and paper or soap products. The door is next to the door to the
VIP stair. As that person is cleans the restrooms the other will stack the chairs wipe off the tables and
counters withTriad # 6. Clean the glass on vending machines. Vacuum the carpet section both in break
room andVIP landing. Mop break room floor andTech hallway. If done right it should only take 30-40 mins
to complete.
Detailing
Having completed the main tasks of the castle you are only 90% done. Detailing is an essential
aspect of the process to ensure the stage is truly set for our guest. Tasks include Dusting props light fixtures,
cleaning walls columns, q rails with warm water, cleaning wood items with Murphy oil soap, washing glass
with glance and sweeping out the greenhouse. There are many other items. Make sure you are always
looking for ways to make the castle as perfect as possible.
End of Shift Checks
As the night comes to an end ensure both of you walk the castle to ensure everything that could be
done has been. Make note of any supplies that need to be brought over for the next day. Make sure that
both closets are organized and in good order before leaving for the day.

the report.
 Each entry follows the correct format for the type of reference.
 Entries are listed in alphabetical order according to the author’s last name.

Works cited  Every source has a specific reference in the report. Include only the sources that are mentioned in the report.  Each entry follows the correct format for the type of reference.  Entries are listed in alphabetical order according to the author’s last name.
