This document outlines the agenda and learning objectives for a workshop on research data management for libraries. The workshop uses a case study approach and hands-on activities to teach librarians best practices for data collection, organization, documentation, backup/storage, and sharing/preservation. The goal is to prepare librarians to teach researchers about data management and illustrate opportunities for library involvement in the area. Based on a survey after the workshop, most attendees felt their expectations were met or exceeded, and they found the hands-on case study activities and practical tips to be most useful.

• Hands-on session with Andrea & Sherry was muy fabuloso.
• Most meaningful: hands-on training and future planning with
Lake & Horne Denton's workshop; the practical tips doing the
case study; Getting a systematic approach to how libraries can
present data management to their researchers.
• Working through the case study and working in groups was very
helpful.
• I think we would have benefited from having more time to do the
case study or if it was distributed at the end of the first day,
people could review it before.
• The case study was interesting-but seemed a little bit basic.
• The hands-on Tuesday session was VERY helpful. However, I
thought the example case was more bench science than clinical
which leaves some unanswered questions about clinical data
extraction, management, etc.
