Jeff Bourk and Steve Peet had the idea to open a private airport in Branson, Missouri to increase tourism. They secured $155 million to build the airport over 2 years. Several airlines began flying to Branson Airport, which increased tourism. However, the city of Branson later voided the $8.24 passenger fee agreement that was paying for the airport. Airport officials claimed they had legal documents showing the agreement was valid. This case study examines the managerial challenges Jeff Bourk faced in getting the airport operational and now overseeing its daily functions.
