This document summarizes a case study about strengthening faculty-foundation relations at Fort Hays State University (FHSU). It finds that historically the relationship has been indifferent, with faculty having limited understanding of development and not seeing fundraising as part of their job. However, some engagement strategies have worked, like phonathons and honorary campaign chairs. The key takeaway is for state comprehensive universities to embrace collaboration and participation across divisions through social technology to build a more development-friendly culture.
