People in the village of Pteleos, Greece celebrate carnival on the last Sunday before Clean Monday by gathering in the central square. The local choir sang traditional songs and the primary school students performed Greek folk dances they had learned like Gaitanaki and Pepper, which was enjoyed by all. To conclude the festivities, a carnival king effigy was burned in a large bonfire in the central square.
