Some children can be ‘worriers’ and some can even be at the worst stages of worrying than many others. As a matter of fact, these traits of young kids can be genetic and can be inherited from their paternal or maternal lines. We find some in the preschools in trivandrum as well as at home when parents work out some ideas that pop up in their minds, to make our little worriers calm in so many instances.
In today’s world, day care has become an absolute necessity for working parents who leave their child alone at home. We discuss in depth about day care services, such as the Williamsburg Northside Daycare in Brooklyn, for young children.

This is a Photo Story about the Portsmouth Literary Quiz of 28 January 2016. It was held at Fratton Park for Year 7s and 8s of Portsmouth. Featured authors were Ali Sparkes (Carjacked), Jamie Thomson (Dark Lord: Teenage Years), Jeff Norton (Metawars) and me, Candy Gourlay (Shine). Our books were part of the quiz -- hilariously we were not very good at answering multiple choice questions about our own books! Much fun was had by all - congratulations to the amazing school children who participated. Thanks to Peter Bone, School Library Service Manager of Portsmouth, Colin Telford of the Hayling Island Bookshop, and the teachers and librarians who made the day work like clockwork! http://www.candygourlay.com/2016/03/portsmouth-lit-quiz-2016.html

How to establish healthy parents teacher relationshipAvinash Fofalia
Children spend the majority of their day with either teachers or parents. Studies have shown that children whose parents-teacher relationship is healthy, perform well academically. Successful education of the child in all spheres needs a solid partnership between the parent and the teacher. Teachers benefit from having an inside view of the child’s psyche. On the other hand, parents are better equipped to academically support their children at home. It is an ideal, win-win situation for everyone involved.

2. A Few questions to ask your-
self?
Are you concerned that your relation-
ship with your child is not as close as you
hoped it would be?
Do you sometimes wonder how well you know
your child?
Do you sometimes feel so angry with your
child you feel like blowing up?
Are you concerned about the level of disci-
pline you behaviours think you need with your
child?
The Caring Dads programme is aimed to help fa-
thers improve relationships with their children and
end controlling abusive and neglectful behaviours.
Fathers can and want to be a positive influence in
their children’s lives. Research has shown posi-
tively involved fathers can enhance their children’s
academic, social and personal development.
Fathers, unfortunately, can also have a negative
impact on their children when they:
Do not understand their children’s needs and feel-
ings.
Harshly discipline their children.
Argue frequently with their children’s mother
Use abusive, neglectful and controlling behav-
iours.
