Estimation and Evaluation of G+3 Residential Buildingvivatechijri
Any construction project to begin with starts with the Layout of the building or structure followed by
Design and Analysis of the structure which is succeeded by cost estimation and planning for the said project. This
project involves the layout, design, analysis, planning and cost estimation of a G+3 residential building located
in Bhiwandi. The layout of the proposed G+3 residential building is based on a plot of size 18X15M. Previously
the plot was being used as a commercial complex, but according to the new plan it will be used as a multi-storied
residential building. The ground floor of the building will be used as parking while the remaining 3 floors will be
divided into 6 apartments each having an area of 2BHK & 1BHK 60.97sqm & 48.25sqm. Each apartment is of
2BHK and 1BHK configuration.
Comparative Study on Construction Sequence Analysis on Steel Structure withou...ijtsrd
This paper presents the construction sequence analysis on the setback steel structure. In this study, the proposed building is eleven storey setback steel structure. The length of the proposed building is 78ft and width is 66ft. The effective height of proposed building is 142ft. This building is located in seismic destructive zone V, Mandalay. The basic wind speed is 80mph. The structure is composed of special moment resisting frame SMRF . Structural elements are designed according to AISC 360 10. Load consideration and stability checking for proposed building are based on ASCE 7 10. The proposed building is analysed and designed with the help of ETABS 2016 version 16.2.1 software. After response spectrum analysis RSA has done for the checking of the stability, then construction sequence analysis CSA is considered. And then the structural analysis results of the proposed building are studied such as axial force, shear force and bending moment of the structural frame elements. The effect of floating columns with CSA on axial force for the selected columns of proposed building is more influence from first to sixth floor level. The value of shear force with CSA is abruptly increased at the floated columns level and the other level are gradually decreased. The value of bending moment at the floated columns level is abruptly increased due to the effect of floating columns with CSA and the other level are gradually decreased. 7. ABSTRACT
Structural analysis is a branch which involves determination of behavior of
structures in order to predict the responses of real structures such as
buildings, bridges, trusses etc, with economy, elegance, serviceability and
durability of structure. Structural engineers are facing the challenge of
striving for the most efficient and economical design with accuracy in
solution, while ensuring that the final design of a building must be
serviceable for its intended function over its design lifetime. This project
attempts to understand the structural behavior of various componentS in
the multi-storied building. Analysis, designing and estimation of
multi-storied building has been taken up for TYPE 2 G+3 Residential
Building, thereby depending on the suitability of plan, layout of beams and
positions of columns are fixed.
8. ABSTRACT
Dead loads are calculated based on material properties and live loads are
considered according to the code IS875-part 2, footings are designed based
on safe bearing capacity of soil. For the design of columns and beams frame
analysis is done by limit state method to know the moments they are acted
upon. Slab designing is done depending upon the type of slab (one way or
two way), end conditions and the loading. From the slabs the loads are
transferred to the beams, thereafter the loads from the beams are taken up
by the columns and then to footing finally the section is checked for the
components manually and using ETABS 16.2.1 software for the post analysis
of structure, maximum shear force, bending moment and maximum storey
displacement are computed. The quantitative estimation has also been
worked out.
9. INTRODUCTION
Structural analysis means determination of the general shape and all the
specific dimensions of a particular structure so that it will perform the
function for which it is created and will safely withstand the influences which
will act on it throughout its useful life. Due to concentration and increase of
population into urban cities, there is a need to accommodate the influx in
urban cities. However, due to rapid increase of land cost and limited
availability of land, constructions of Multi–storied buildings is taking part in
our daily life. A multi- storied is a building that has multiple floors above
ground in the building. Multi–storied buildings aim to increase the floor area
of the building without increasing the area of the land, the building is built
on and hence saving land and in most cases money (depending on material
used and land prices in the area). The design process of multi storied
building requires not only imagination and conceptual thinking but also
sound knowledge of science of structural engineering.
10. INTRODUCTION
• In this project, TYPE 2 G+3 Residential building is considered for the
analysis and designing of building using ETABS software 16.2.1.
• The project deals with the planning and designing of building of
reinforced concrete framed structure using IS 456:2000 code. IS
456:2000 is the basic code for general construction in concrete
structures , hence all the structural members are designed using limit
state method in accordance with the IS 456:2000 code.
• The planning of any building in India will recognized by national building
code (NBC). Hence the building is planned in accordance with the NBC.
Load consideration is in accordance with IS 875-part 2.
• Modeling of the building is done in ETABS and is analyzed to get the
deformation, bending moment, shear force and area of steel
requirement. Structural members like slab, beam, column and footing
will be designed using ETABS digital analysis.
11. INTRODUCTION
ETABS:
ETABS is an engineering software product that caters to multi-story
building analysis and design. Modeling tools and templates, code-based
load prescriptions, analysis methods and solution techniques, all
coordinate with the grid-like geometry unique to this class of structure.
Basic or advanced systems under static or dynamic conditions may be
evaluated using ETABS. For a sophisticated assessment of seismic
performance, modal and direct-integration time-history analyses may
couple with P-Delta and Large Displacement effects. Nonlinear links and
concentrated PMM or fiber hinges may capture material nonlinearity
under monotonic or hysteretic behavior. Intuitive and integrated
features make applications of any complexity practical to implement.
Interoperability with a series of design and documentation platforms
makes ETABS a coordinated and productive tool for designs which
range from simple 2D frames to elaborate modern high-rises.
12. INTRODUCTION
It mainly performs these 3 tasks:
• Modeling of Structural Systems:
Fundamental to ETABS modeling is the generalization that
multi-story buildings typically consist of identical or similar
floor plans that repeat in the vertical direction. Modeling
features that streamline analytical-model generation, and
simulate advanced seismic systems.
13. INTRODUCTION
• Loading, Analysis, and Design:
Once modeling is complete, ETABS automatically generates and
assigns code-based loading conditions for gravity, seismic, wind,
and thermal forces. Users may specify an unlimited number of load
cases and combinations.Analysis capabilities then offer advanced
nonlinear methods for characterization of static-pushover and
dynamic response. Dynamic considerations may include modal,
response-spectrum, or time-history analysis. P-delta effect account
for geometric nonlinearity.Given enveloping specification, design
features will automatically size elements and systems, design
reinforcing schemes, and otherwise optimize the structure
according to desired performance measures.
14. INTRODUCTION
• Output, Interoperability, and Versatility:
Output and display formats are also practical and intuitive.
Moment, shear, and axial force diagrams, presented in 2D and 3D
views with corresponding data sets, may be organized into
customizable reports. Also available are detailed section cuts
depicting various local response measures. Global perspectives
depicting static displaced configurations or video animations of
time-history response are available as well.ETABS also features
interoperability with related software products, providing for the
import of architectural models from various technical drawing
software, or export to various platforms and file formats. SAFE, the
floor and foundation slab design software with post-tensioning (PT)
capability, is one such option for export. CSI coordinated SAFE to be
used in conjunction with ETABS such that engineers could more
thoroughly detail, analyze, and design the individual levels of an
ETABS model.

18. LITERATURE REVIEW
• Mallikarjun, Dr P V Surya Prakash (2016):
Carried study on analysis and design of a multi-storied
residential building of ung-2+G+10 by using most economical
column method and the dead load and live load was applied
on the various structural component like slabs, beams and
found that as the study is carried using most economical
column method this was achieved by reducing the size of
columns at top floors as load was more at the bottom floor.
The economizing was done by means of column orientation in
longer span in longer direction as it will reduce the amount of
bending and the area of steel was also reduced.
19. LITERATURE REVIEW
• P.P. Chandurkar et al (2013):
Had presented study of G+9 building having three meters
height for each storey. The whole building design had carried
out according to IS code for seismic resistant design and the
building had considered fixed at base. Structural element for
design had assumed as square or rectangular in section. They
had done modeling of building using ETAB software in that
four different models were studied with different positioning
of shear walls.
20. LITERATURE REVIEW
• Ismail Sab, Prof .S.M. Hashmi (2014):
Generated 3D analytical model of twelve storied buildings for
different buildings Models and analyzed using structural
analysis tool ETABS. To study the effect of infill, ground soft,
