Social networking has been part of the recruiting landscape for some time, but as prospective hires become employees, companies are using social tools to streamline work processes associated with onboarding new hires.
Companies are finding that by leveraging social technologies they can create communities for new employees that provide opportunities for learning, mentorship and peer identification quickly reducing training time and strengthening company culture at the same time.
During this session you’ll hear how companies are delivering gold-medal onboarding by:
Pre-distributing benefits and learning materials
Facilitating employee introductions and collaboration prior to new hire orientation
Pinpointing mentors and birds of a feather
Using 360º performance reviews and transparency of actions to provide true measure of employee success.
Why is it that some companies which try to become agile fail to sustain their early success, while other companies not only grow their agility, but thrive in it?
Most agile adoptions are focused "Outside-In". That is, they start with a process like Scrum or Kanban, and expose the impediments within the organization. However, it is these embedded cultural impediments which often limit agility.
This presentation introduces a counter approach to agile adoption, from the "Inside-out", to align, grow and sustain agility - no matter the culture of your organization. It was first presented at RallyOn 2012 in Boulder, CO.
A talk by Alan Shalloway at the European Lean IT Summit 2012. This talk provides 2 essential meta-patterns of Lean: focus on value and eliminating delays. These can be used to guide the creation of an effective and efficient workflow. It presents four case studies, each building on the concepts of the other, to provide actionable advice for your own implementations.

Building centralized enterprise employee advocacy programs misses the crucial element that deep employee engagement really comes from their team and their close network, not the enterprise as a whole. Rather than designing complex multi-step programs, it is easier to allow them to become autonomous yet in support of well defined principles and shared goals.

Culture Mapping in Digital TransformationRawn Shah
Our understanding of the concept of Culture at work is expanding beyond simpler notions like organizationals values and culture. We have long seen culture as the creator of new value, purpose and meaning to why we work in firms altogether. This delivers beyond what we gain from transactional processes. So if you are seeking ROI out of reengineering your processes and transactions to incorporate enterprise social network interactions, then what you are looking for is dedication, loyalty, drive. This is what can make Digital transformation more than the sum of its parts. This sociographic look at digital transformation shares some of the old and the new ways how we can examine and even measure culture to discover and drive new business value.
Social Business in the Cloud: Achieving Measurable ResultsRawn Shah
As social technologies have evolved, they have increased in adoption across a wide spectrum of
businesses, industries, and geographies. Some organizations, usually with strong business and IT
alignment, are realizing that social technologies initiated for one business activity can spark innovative
uses in other areas. This insight creates motivation to widen the reach and adoption of these
investments. Unfortunately, this is not always the case; many organizations are still struggling with how
to justify social business investments in a way that reflects their actual business value. This inability to
quantify the business impact of social technology has become a key inhibitor to adoption.
This is available from the Global Solutions Networks site: http://gsnetworks.org/research_posts/global-standards-networks/
Global Standards Networks create the frameworks for common operations, transparency and interoperability across private, public and civic sectors worldwide. they create common designs that commercial organizations can implement as products or services to offer to end-customers. they organize collective best practices into common approved sets to elevate an overall sector or industry. they find the balance between theoretical ideals and practical needs to meet market demand. And they drive global adoption of these standards using free- market forces, rather than governmental regulation.

Sales Teams And Value Of Social Software (IBM)Rawn Shah
Describes the impact of using social processes or tasks within larger business processes to create a map of where social software provides business value.
Executives like this because you are describing value in terms of processes that they know and understand, and simply replacing some (not all) steps with alternative or possibly better ways of doing things.

Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.
