This document summarizes tools and tactics for engaging alumni using an alumni association website built on the open-source Joomla platform. It discusses using Joomla, Google, and content feeds to provide easy navigation, social media resources, and updates. Chapter and club sections take advantage of standard content and styles while being tailored individually, using Google Calendar and YouTube. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube are integrated to engage alumni and leverage free resources. Two segmented eNewsletters are sent on different schedules to reduce overcommunication while spotlighting programs, services, and events. New engagement ideas discussed include using Foursquare, a Knight Neighbor Locator, and a mobile app campaign.
