1st Day (Monday, 1-04-2019), Reception at the school, sightseeing tour at City Hall and the Historic Center
of Porto
 The Erasmus team was warmly welcomed by the teachers, school administration and students of the
hosting school. The headmaster of the school and the Portuguese coordinator gave a speech to the
whole group expressing their feelings and expectations about the project meeting and introducing
gender violence and creative theatre as the central topics of the transnational meeting.
 A typical Portuguese breakfast was offered by the hosting school at the cafeteria, a prelude of local
cuisine.
 Students and teachers were guided through the historic building of the Carolina Michaëlis complex,
which has modern facilities combining the historic architecture with modern educational needs;
 The participant teachers held the first meeting on the latest organisationaldetails of the meeting, as well
as the coordination of the last transnational meeting in Latvia.
 A group of host students presented some particularities about their country and city as well as simple
words and expressions of the Portuguese language. The guest students practised and translated them
into their own language.
 After lunch, there was a guided tour of the City Hall, where the group was welcomed by the mayor.
Another guided tour followed, this time through Porto Historic Centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Throughout this tour the group took the chance to experience the unique atmosphere of the places and
learn about monuments of historical and cultural interest.
 After the end of the first day, the students had the opportunity to chat with their old/new friends and
get to know the Portuguese culture and local cuisine.
2nd Day (Tuesday, 2-04-2019), Porto
 The second day was dedicated to the city's attractions. The participants visited the Baroque Church with
the marble temple and 75-meter bell tower, Clerigos church and Clerigos Tower, one of the most iconic
monuments of Porto. The rigorous climb up the tower paid off, as the group was rewarded with a
breathtaking view of the city!
 Going down to Ribeira, the group visited São Bento railway station, voted one of the most beautiful train
stations in the world, with its more than 20.000 Portuguese typical tiles (“Azulejos”) that adorn the main
hall walls, telling about some of the most important events of the history of Portugal and the evolution
of the means of transport.
 Then the participants walked through Ribeira, the old city district located by the Douro river and part of
the Historic Centre. There the group could enjoy the unique settings along the river banks, including the
18th century colourful buildings all around the main square.
 Followed a cruise to Douro and the six bridges, some of which are of historical importance. The Erasmus
participants could feel the beauty, the climate, the sensations of being in the middle of two cities, and
obviously, the magnificent views projected by the amazing six bridges which connect the two cities,
Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.
 After lunch the group went on a guided tour of The House of Sandeman, one of the most typical wine
cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, on the opposite bank of the Douro river. The participants were taken on a
trip through Porto wine history and the majestic building, steeped in tradition, where hundreds of wine
barrels and casks have been ageing the internationally recognised Porto Wine for over two centuries.
 The city tour was closed by visiting the picturesque Lello Bookshop, one of the oldest and most beautiful
bookshops in the world, with its marvelous stairway, exquisite wooden walls and stained glass ceiling.
3rd Day (Wednesday, 3-04-2019): Day trip to Aveiro and Ilhavo
 On the third day of the programme the Erasmus group visitedAveiro, a picturesque town in the Northern
coastline, best known as small Venice of Portugal due to its canals and the beautifully painted gondola-
like boats called Moliceiros, traditionally used for gathering seaweed that was used as a local fertilizer.
 In Aveiro the participants visited the historic centre, full of spectacular building façades featuring the Art
Nouveau architectural style. Later, the group participated in a workshop on soft eggs where they learned
about the production process of one of the most well-known Portuguese sweet pastries, a traditional
Aveiro confection made of a delicious “sweet egg-yolk paste” wrapped in a wafer-thin pastry shaped like
oysters, clams, cowries and fish, as a tribute to the maritime traditions of the region. Then everybody
enjoyed the experience of a Moliceiro cruise, on the traditional boats.
 Next stop was the seaside town of Ilhavo, known as the Portuguese capital of cod, “bacalhau”. There
was a guided visit to the Maritime Museum, where the participants learned about the history of the
salted codfish, Portugal’s most treasured dish, which has been a staple part of the Portuguese cuisine
since the Age of Discoveries. The participants also had the opportunity to visit a real-size cod fishing
mother ship and get a feel of what it was like to live and work on these fishing boats in the cold waters
of the North Atlantic Ocean. The visit to the museum ended at the codfish aquarium, where the group
marvelled at the sight of the cods!
 The last stop was at Costa Nova, an Atlantic nearby sandy beach, known for its attractive candy-striped
houses, the typical buildings of this region which were once used by fishermen to shelter or to preserve
their fishing equipment.
 The day ended with a typical Portuguese dinner offered by the host school.
4rth Day (Thursday, 4-04-2019): Work at school
 In the morning the groups made the last rehearsals for the presentation of the plays and prepared the
stage settings accordingly.
 A guided tour to the Concert Hall Casa da Música followed. For about an hour, a guide described the
building, leading the participants around its different spaces and explaining how the architecture, its
functionalities and the artistic programming all relate to each other.
 The afternoon was devoted to Art:
• The event started with dance performances from two groups of Portuguese students.
• Then the sketches were performed by the groups of the six partners:
1. The Portuguese team staged their play on youth who are bullied based upon perceptions
about their sexual orientation.
2. Then Finland, on the role of social media in spreading false news.
3. The Greek play was on domestic violence, but reverting the traditional roles, as the violent
wife depreciates and humiliates the unemployed and inactive husband in front of their children.
4. The Italian team focused on man's violence against the woman within the family.
5. The Latvian showed their concern about violence against LGBT groups.
6. Finally, the Spanish team put up a multimedia show about violence against women in a
relationship.
• Afterwards, the students created posters on gender violence, gender equality and on the importance
of recognising and respecting other people’s differences.
• Then everybody sang the project song “We are here together!” and watched the videoclip made by
the Portuguese team.
 A farewell party was prepared by the host families.
 Teachers worked on project issues: project management and implementation, the 3rd and last
transnational meeting in Latvia, tasks, dissemination strategies and guidelines on completing the
mobility tool. An overview of ongoing work was carried out.
 All the participants received Certificates of Attendance and some Europass Mobility Documents were
prepared and signed.
All the produced materials will be posted on the project website and the twinspace for further
dissemination. The teachers of each partner country will prepare presentations of the meeting for their
schools and communities.
5th Day (Friday, 5-04-2019): Day of school activities, departure
 On the lastday of the meeting, the participants spent the morning at the host school visiting the bazaars,
creative workshops and craft exhibitions organised by the Portuguese students, teachers and parents
for Easter, with the purpose of raising money to help the needy students of the school group.
The 3rd Transnational Learning, Teaching and Training Meeting was successfully completed. During the
five days of the programme students and teachers from the six European countries had the opportunity
to interact and strengthen the already excellent climate of trust, co-operation and friendship. At the
same time, they learned a lot about the charming and interesting Portuguese culture and cultural
heritage.
