C2B“Real-Time” Innovation, and
The Data To Support It.
A principal concern facing businesses today is the rise of
Digital Darwinism, and one Silicon Valley based startup
business-to-consumer brands, a common thread is evident –
regardless of industry or business size. Successful companies
possess real-time insight on what consumers want and
continuetoinnovatebaseduponthis.Inordertostayonestep
ahead, the most innovative brands are targeting millennial
audiences, who have grown up in and embrace - an age of
collaboration and technology.

This group of consumers has completely altered the way in which
companies conduct business. In an article for Time Magazine, Jeff

to capture data through open
innovation and crowdsourcing,
creating a real time market
research engine. This shift has
given life to a new business
model all together – consumer-
to-business or C2B.

C2B is a complete reversal of the B2C business model.Through this model consumers create value for businesses that can be directly translated into
by the crowdfunding model.These C2B models showcase the value of a consumer by actively engaging them in order to bring to life the ideas of the
crowd.These open innovation models cut out the middleman, saving time and money for businesses and ultimately providing the consumer with a
product tailored to their actual needs and wants.
The success of these models is evident in all spheres of our economy – from political
campaigns and disaster relief to startup funding. The C2B model has been proven
far more valuable than most initially thought, especially in social media. In fact,
a way for businesses to brand fan base and increase effectiveness. The ability to
measure data through social media platforms allows businesses to tap into
valuable consumer insight at a far lower cost than traditional methods.This means
companies are listening to consumers and building relationships instead of using
that they must embrace the shift of innovation simply to maintain a competitive
