Unfriended is a found footage horror film about a group of teens communicating over Skype who are tormented by an unknown person. The film starts with cringe-worthy teen humor and arguments between friends, but develops a more human feel as the characters react realistically by calling for help. Though the acting and small cast are not top-tier, they avoid being overly dramatic and maintain a natural presence. The found footage style through a computer screen immerses the viewer and makes the film feel realistic. While not without flaws, the film is worth watching for its novel approach and ability to keep the viewer engaged through both visuals and audio.
