The document discusses data collection and management. It describes how Shooju is a web-based data platform that consolidates data sources, makes data searchable from one place, and seamlessly integrates with tools. It notes that most organizations spend more time cleaning and managing data than analyzing it. Common methods to collect data include APIs, scraping, and manual collection, each with advantages and disadvantages. Shooju provides cost savings, added data quality, and enables enhanced decision making by streamlining data workflows and automating processes.

The New Self-Service Analytics - Going Beyond the ToolsKatherine Gabriel
In today’s business climate, using data to make quick decisions is a common ask across organizations. To fulfill such asks business users want more, faster, and better access to data and analytic tools. IT wants to balance this need for speed with the responsibility to protect the data assets from security, privacy, and quality risks. A common solution to this scenario is self-service BI or self-service analytics. Chances are you are already using self-service BI in some way, shape, or form or have heard a pitch from an analytic tool vendor!
Self-service BI has been around for several decades and yet business users keep asking for more and more. Has self-service BI failed to deliver on its promise? Is it time to revisit what self-service really means? How can business and IT work together to achieve better decision-making outcomes for their organization?
We cover:
• How to demystify what self-service analytics means
• New trends driving the self-service analytics evolution
• Best practices and lessons learned from real-life examples
• Recommendations for making progress within your organization

Incredible ODI tips to work with Hyperion tools that you ever wanted to knowRodrigo Radtke de Souza
ODI is an incredible and flexible development tool that goes beyond simple data integration. But most of its development power comes from outside-the-box ideas.
* Did you ever want to dynamically run any number of “OS” commands using a single ODI component?
* Did you ever want to have only one data store and loop different sources without the need of different ODI contexts?
* Did you ever want to have only one interface and loop any number of ODI objects with a lot of control?
* Did you ever need to have a “third command tab” in your procedures or KMs to improve ODI powers?
* Do you still use an old version of ODI and miss a way to know the values of the variables in a scenario execution?
* Did you know ODI has four “substitution tags”? And do you know how useful they are?
* Do you use “dynamic variables” and know how powerful they can be?
* Do you know how to have control over you ODI priority jobs automatically (stop, start, and restart scenarios)?

How to solve complex business requirements with Oracle Data Integrator?Gurcan Orhan
Business requirements are always hard to implement, develop, operate and always changeable. In this session attendees will have some fact examples of turning unstructured data into structural meaning, writing complex queries without typing anything, adding function based joins, implementing CTAS (Create Table As Select) and IAS (Insert As Select) methods and simplifying business rules, writing optimized queries to decrease operational and development costs as well as the faster loads.
In this presentation, see how you can solve some of complex business requirements with Oracle Data Integrator's flexibility and ease of usage features.
A microservice approach for legacy modernisationluisw19
Very large portion of the world’s business critical systems are considered to be ‘legacy’ –and so is the code underpinning them (ie COBOL, PASCAL, C, to name a few). Although in many cases it is the case that these systems are robust, stable and fit for the main purpose they were originally built, they aren’t flexible and scalable enough to support emerging requirements mainly derived from a more demanding ‘always on the move’ and ‘always connected’ user.
These systems struggle to meet these demands mainly because of the ‘monolithic’ approach on which they were built and the complexity hidden in millions of lines of code that is only understood a very few hand-full of people that still remain active from the teams that several years ago developed these systems.
In almost an equal amount there have also been thousands of failed attempts to modernise these legacy systems. The ‘eating the elephant’ in one go approach certainly didn’t work, and the traditional SOA approach alone although worked till certain extend, it also fell short when it came down to addressing specific requirements around scalability and platform/service inter-dependencies.
In this presentation I will talk about how a legacy modernisation framework based on Microservice Architecture (MSA) in conjunction with some other known SOA patterns (ie. ESB, API Gateway), can be applied to ‘eat the elephant one piece at the time’ but most importantly ‘without getting indigestion’

Data summit connect fall 2020 - rise of data opsRyan Gross
Data governance teams attempt to apply manual control at various points for consistency and quality of the data. By thinking of our machine learning data pipelines as compilers that convert data into executable functions and leveraging data version control, data governance and engineering teams can engineer the data together, filing bugs against data versions, applying quality control checks to the data compilers, and other activities. This talk illustrates how innovations are poised to drive process and cultural changes to data governance, leading to order-of-magnitude improvements.

Data-Driven DevOps: Mining Machine Data for 'Metrics that Matter' in a DevOps...Splunk
IT organizations are increasingly using machine data - including in DevOps practices - to get away from 'vanity metrics' and instead to generate 'metrics that matter'. These metrics provide visibility into the delivery of new application code and the business value of DevOps, to both IT and business stakeholders.
Machine data provides DevOps teams and others - including QA, secops, CxOs and LOB leaders - with meaningful and actionable metrics. This allows stakeholders to monitor, measure, and continuously improve the velocity and quality of code throughout the software lifecycle, from dev/test to customer-facing outcomes and business impact.
In this session Andi Mann, chief technology advocate at Splunk, will share core methodologies, interesting case studies, key success factors and 'gotcha' moments from real-world experience with mining machine data to produce 'metrics that matter' in a DevOps context.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Consistency
Shooju ensures that all analysts are using the same data
across all their tools and applications. By allowing
analysts to upload their own data to the platform, internal
data as well as external data now flows seamlessly -
without messy spreadsheet links.
Currency
By automatically pulling in the latest source data through the
Shooju importer layer, Shooju ensures that all of your
spreadsheets and models are populated with the latest data.
Our native plugins for Excel, Access and all your other tools
allow data to flow through directly without any need for the
analyst to download or copy and paste.
Correctness
The more data is touched by human hands, the more prone it is to errors. By streamlining
workflows and automating work processes, Shooju eliminates most of these errors, saving
time and ensuring that the data you rely on is more accurate.
