This document provides instructions for an assignment to develop a written communication based on a strategic communications plan. Students are asked to compose a written communication that clearly states the key message, provides necessary background information to build credibility, includes 3-4 supporting points, employs either a consult/join or tell/sell technique, and clearly requests action from the audience. Students are also instructed to write professionally using clear, concise, and logically structured sentences and appropriate formatting. They must demonstrate a professional presence through an authentic tone and vocabulary suited to the audience. Finally, students must explain their choice of communication channel and style, and how they incorporated feedback to improve their message.
