Fallingwater was built in 1937 as a weekend retreat for the Kaufmann family. The entire house is constructed out of concrete, steel, and rock and cantilevers over a waterfall in the Japanese architectural style for which Frank Lloyd Wright was known. Fallingwater is considered Wright's most famous work and influenced both interior design and architecture by bringing the outdoors in and building around the natural elements rather than trying to control them.

Frances was very family-oriented and enjoyed gardening. She lived to be over 90 years old.

Frank Lloyd Wright designed Fallingwater in 1935 as a weekend home built over a waterfall in rural Pennsylvania for the Kaufmann family. Wright's organic architecture philosophy aimed to harmonize structures with nature. The design incorporated horizontal and vertical lines to bring the surrounding nature inside through openings framing views of the waterfall. Construction from 1936-1937 cost $155,000, more than the original $35,000 estimate, but created Wright's masterpiece integrating architecture with the natural landscape.
Carmans River History

Benjamin W. Poindexter and Noland & Baskerville are identified as less likely possibilities. Poindexter's known commissions in the area occurred several years later. Noland & Baskerville did little work in
Fallingwater
Fallingwater was built in 1937 as a weekend retreat for the Kaufmann family. The entire house is constructed out of concrete, steel, and rock and cantilevers over a waterfall in the Japanese architectural style for which Frank Lloyd Wright was known. Fallingwater is considered Wright's most famous work and influenced both interior design and architecture by bringing the outdoors in and building around the natural elements rather than trying to control them.

Frances Eleanor Anderson was born in Shanghai, China in 1912 and spent her early childhood there and in Honolulu, Hawaii before becoming a nurse. She married Merlin Anderson in 1936 and worked as a missionary nurse in Iowa, Ethiopia, and California before settling in Yakima, Washington in 1954. Frances was very family-oriented and enjoyed gardening. She lived to be over 90 years old.

Hurricanes In Sandwich

Exploring Burk Run Terrace
Burk Run/St Clair Terrace. A unique nature-culture weave in Euclid, Ohio. At the Euclid-Wickliffe line, Burk Run cuts north through the Painesville Moraine to cross Euclid Ave. The stream then flows north on the St. Clair Terrace.
In 1797, Joseph Burk opened an inn on the Euclid side of the run. Girdled Rd (1800) & the Bishop Mill (1809) attracted settlers. Inns opened in Wickliffe.
In 1881, the Nickel Plate Railroad set the stage for area vineyards and a brickyard. Wickliffe’s brick downtown grew quickly, as did Noble in Euclid.
Post WWII growth killed local industry & railroading. In 1961, I-90 buried Burk Run and sucked manufacturing and settlement from the area.
The Burk Run tour explores the stream's cut through the St Clair Terrace and asks, “Can we restore this stream?”

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
