This document describes a demonstration showing that a boat moves up when the buoyant force exerted on it is greater than its weight force. The boat was measured to have a weight force of 35 Newtons and the buoyant force was measured to be 40 Newtons, so the boat moved up. It then stopped moving once the buoyant force and weight force were balanced at 35 Newtons each.
