PERSONIFICATION
Personification is human characteristics given to objects, ideas, or animals.
An example of personification: The wind was calling my name. the wind wasn’t
really calling my name, the wind was just acting as a person.
HYPERBOLES
• Hyperbole- is something being exaggeration. An example of a hyperbole is: that dog was as big as a wheal. The dog isn’t really big
as a wheal the person that was saying that was just making it bigger.
IDIOMS
• Idioms are phrases that mean or stand for something other then the literal meaning. An example of an idiom is: she is feeling blue. She's not
really blue she’s just sick.
METAPHOR
Metaphors are two or more things being compared without using (like or as). For ex: the lion and the tiger look the same. See that I
didn’t used like or as.
SIMILE
• Similes are two or more things being compared using like or as. An example of a simile is: that balloon looks just like a hippo. I was comparing both
things using like or as.
