Barriers for women in networking include the "motherhood assumption" where women are seen as less willing to travel. Overall the document examines networking challenges women face in the workplace.

Leaders may think that awareness programs are suitable for addressing unconscious bias, but they are just the start. Raising awareness of unconscious bias through presentations and tests does not actually change behaviors or outcomes. To effectively address unconscious bias, organizations need to focus on changing behaviors through shared knowledge, language to discuss biases, and structural approaches like requiring diversity in hiring panels. The most effective strategies are concrete rules and policies that change outcomes by increasing minority applicants and representation, rather than just focusing on awareness.
This document discusses motivating students to engage in meaningful service opportunities. It argues that simply using service hours as a punishment or for resume padding fails to honor the spirit of service. The generation of millennials wants service opportunities that allow them to make a real impact and be part of positive change. The organization Invisible Children is highlighted for successfully inspiring millennials to take action on social issues. It mobilized millions through emotional storytelling and films, challenging participants to make sacrifices and take leadership roles in creating solutions. Research found Invisible Children significantly increased participants' skills, confidence, motivation and civic engagement. The document concludes students desire grand adventures through service that allow them to share their experiences and feel they changed history.
This document discusses incivility and its impacts, and provides suggestions for promoting civil engagement and building trust between government and communities. Some key points:

The document discusses potential solutions to the complex issue of whether lack of parenting skills can lead to child abuse and neglect. A group analyzed this issue and proposed three main solutions: 1) Further educating parents, teachers, and caregivers about warning signs through additional programs. 2) Better educating healthcare professionals to recognize signs of abuse. 3) Improving Children's Protective Services through reputation management and adding case workers. The group felt that education was the highest priority and most discussed solution across all sources analyzed. Improving awareness of child abuse and available resources through education programs was seen as key to addressing this complex social issue.
Can Grassroots Parent Educational Programs Compete with Nationally Prominent ...BASPCAN
Margaret Coombes examines whether grassroots parent education programs can compete with nationally prominent programs to prevent child abuse. Through a community research collaborative with a university and non-profit agency, Coombes evaluates an interactive parent education program run by the non-profit agency. Focus groups with parents, social workers, and agency staff find the program facilitates positive communication and support. Parents report improved parenting skills, relationships with children, and outlooks. The program offers childcare, transportation assistance, and connections to other services. Preliminary findings suggest the grassroots program achieves outcomes comparable to larger programs at lower cost. Further evaluation of impacts on child protection recidivism rates is planned.
The document discusses collaboration between public schools and social services to better serve children. It outlines the various divisions within a Department of Social Services, including youth services, family services, and adult services. This portfolio examines the theme of poor parenting and how it contributes to socio-economic problems in Jamaica. The candidate argues that poor parenting practices, such as failing to instill proper values in children and a lack of father figures, have led to increased crime, violence, and unproductive members of society. However, some experts note that factors like social class also influence juvenile delinquency. The portfolio uses sources from psychologists and journalists to explore both sides of this issue. Through this research, the candidate seeks to bring awareness to the negative impacts of poor parenting and how addressing this could help improve Jamaica's future development.
CBOs analyze child protection issues by examining three key components - content, structure, and culture. Content refers to relevant laws and policies. Structure looks at mechanisms for implementation like social services. Culture considers community values and behaviors. To create change, CBOs must understand how all three components interact and address weaknesses in any area. For example, a law alone will not protect children if enforcement structures are lacking or cultural norms conflict with the law. A holistic approach is needed to strengthen systems protecting children.
ChildLine aims to establish a relationship between parents, specifically single fathers, and their positive parenting campaign. Currently, parenting messages seem directed only at two-parent families or single mothers. Research found single fathers want parenting help but feel excluded from existing campaigns. The goal is to make single fathers aware that ChildLine offers positive parenting resources and support through various channels without judgment. This will help single fathers feel comfortable seeking parenting advice from ChildLine.
The Relational Chain Pp February24,2009jeanlafrance
This document discusses issues with the current bureaucratic, procedure-focused model of child welfare and advocates for a renewed focus on relationships. It notes how the system has become dominated by risk assessment, timelines, and documentation at the expense of meaningful relationships between social workers and families. Interviews with social workers, parents, and research suggest relationship-building is key to positive outcomes but is lacking in the current system. The document proposes developing a "relational chain" model to better incorporate community needs and relationships into program planning and practice.

Nursing management of the patient with Tonsillitis PPTblessyjannu21
Prepared by Prof. Blessy Thomas MSc Nursing, FNCON, SPN. The tonsils are two small glands that sit on either side of the throat.
In young children, they help to fight germs and act as a barrier against infection.
Tonsils act as filters, trapping germs that could otherwise enter the airways and cause infection.
They also make antibodies to fight infection.
But sometimes, they get overwhelmed by bacteria or viruses.
This can make them swollen and inflamed.
Tonsillitis is an infection of the tonsils, two masses of tissue at the back of the throat.
Tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils, two oval-shaped pads of tissue at the back of the throat — one tonsil on each side.
Tonsillitis is common, especially in children.
It can happen once in a while or come back again and again in a short period.Nursing management of Tonsillitis is important.
A comprehensive understanding of the operations for management of Tonsillitis and areas requiring special attention would be important.

Before embarking on a research project, especially one aimed at scoping and defining parameters like the one described for health tech IT, several crucial considerations should be addressed. Here’s a comprehensive guide covering key aspects to ensure a well-structured and successful research initiative:
1. Define Research Objectives and Scope
Clear Objectives: Define specific goals such as understanding market needs, identifying new opportunities, assessing risks, or refining pricing strategies.
Scope Definition: Clearly outline the boundaries of the research in terms of geographical focus, target demographics (e.g., age, socio-economic status), and industry sectors (e.g., healthcare IT).
3. Review Existing Literature and Resources
