Resimen Mahasiswa Mahawarman Batalyon I/ITB
adalah Menwa Tertua di Indonesia. Sebagai pewaris
nilai-nilai kejuangan Tentara Pelajar/Brigade
17/Corps Mahasiswa yang turut berjuang dalam
mempertahankan kemerdekaan. Ada 7 mahasiswa
ITB gugur dalam kemerdekaan. Korps Menwa ITB
dibentuk dari Mahasiswa ITB yang mengikuti Wajib
Latih (WALA 1959), diantaranya adalah alm Prof.
Haryanto Dhanutirto, alm Ir. Giri Suseno (Mantan
Menhub), Ir. Bambang Subianto (Mantan Menkeu), Ir.
Arifin Panigoro (Pengusaha). Generasi awal Menwa
ITB ini terus tumbuh berkembang dari angkatan 1959
hingga angkatan paling muda.
Saat ini Resimen Mahasiswa ITB merupakan satu-
satunya organisasi mahasiswa yang mampu
menyatukan kekuatan anggota aktif dari sejak
pertama didirikan hingga saat ini. Bergabung dengan
Menwa ITB, berarti menyatu dengan ribuan Menwa
ITB dari angkatan ke angkatan, membangun network,
karir dan kompetensi yang dibutuhkan untuk
menjadi pemimpin masa depan.
Pengukuhan Resimen Mahasiswa ITB menjadi
Resimen Teknologi oleh Menteri Pertahanan, 20
Maret 2014, menjadikan Menwa ITB sebagai satu-
satunya UKM khusus yang disahkan dengan amanat
untuk memelihara nilai kejuangan dan membangun
kompetensi teknologi yang mendorong kemajuan &
kemandirian industri pertahanan. Menwa ITB lebih
dari sekedar unit, disini ada idealisme, hobi,
membentuk leadership & character, skill menembak,
selam, terjun payung, caving, SAR & Emergency
Management, mountaineering, cyber forces. Semua
anggota dari angkatan ke angkatan menyatu dalam
wadah brotherhood, Korps Menwa ITB.

Korps Menwa ITB merupakan wadah bagi anggota
aktif dan anggota yang telah lulus dari ITB untuk
tetap menjalankan Panca Dharma Satya dan
menjadi pendukung dan turut serta
mengembangkan organisasi Menwa ITB
Resimen Teknologi
Saat ini seluruh anggota Korps Menwa ITB
(Alumni dan Anggota aktif) yang berjumlah 2.113
personil tersebar dalam berbagai profesi baik di
pemerintahan, militer, akademisi maupun swasta.
Keberhasilan sebagian besar alumninya
menduduki jabatan penting di pemerintahan
maupun swasta menunjukkan bahwa Menwa ITB
sebagai wadah yang potensial dalam
menghasilkan calon pemimpin nasional.
Memasuki usia 50 tahun Menwa ITB mulai
memfokuskan diri pada kopentensinya sebagai
resimen teknologi yaitu ikut serta
mengembangkan teknologi pertahanan dalam
pengadaan alusista demi kemadirian bangsa
dalam teknologi pertahanan.
Dalam kaitannya dengan roadmap seorang
mahasiswa, Menwa ITB memiliki jenjang
Korps Orang Tua/Wali Anggota
Dalam setiap kegiatan, Menwa ITB selalu
melibatkan orang tua/wali anggota aktif dalam
kaitan informasi dan pembinaan. Menwa ITB
bersama Korps Orang Tua/Wali Anggota bersama-
sama memantau dan memajukan anggota yang
merupakan keluarga.
