Floppy disk working mechanism
Floppy disks work in a similar manner to cassette tapes and the magnetic strip on a credit card.
The floppy disk is constructed of stur plastic that is embedded with a thin iron oxide coating on
both sides. The head of the floppy disk drive easily manipulates the magnetic coating on the disk
to store information. Information is recorded on circular tracks and triangular sections. A special
head in the drive erases the area to be written before recording occurs. This head is wider than
the head used for recording and reading information to ensure recorded information is not
contaminated from previous information recorded nearby.
When reading the disk, the head moves to the appropriate track and sector quickly without
touching the disk. This is an improvement over older cassette tape storage that required a rewind
or fast forward movement to retrieve information. Floppy disks contain a safety slide on the side
of the case. If the slide is moved to create an opening, the drive will not record on the disk.
Introduction
A peripheral is a piece of computer hardware that is added to a computer in order to expand its
abilities. The term peripheral is used to describe those devices that are optional in nature, as
opposed to hardware that is either demanded or always required in principle. There are all
different kinds of peripherals you can add your computer. The main disctinction among
peripherals is the way they are connected to your computer. They can be connected internally or
externally.
Buses
A bus is a subsystem that transfers data between computer components inside a computer or
between computers. Unlike a point-to-point connection, a bus can logically connect several
peripherals over the same set of wires. Each bus defines its set of connectors to physically plug
devices, cards or cables together. There are two types of buses: internal and external. Internal
buses are connections to various internal components. External buses are connections to various
external components. There are different kinds of slots that internal and external devices can
connect to.
Internal
Types of Slots
There are many different kinds of internal buses, but only a handful of popular ones. Different
computers come with different kinds and number of slots. It is important to know what kind and
number of slots you have on your computer before you go out and by a card that matches up to a
slot you don’t have.
PCI
PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) is common in modern PCs. This kind of bus is being
succeeded by PCI.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2. WHAT IS VIDEO CARD?
• Video card, also called graphics card, integrated circuit that generates the video signal sent to a
computer display. The card is usually located on the computer motherboard or is a separate circuit
board but is sometimes built into the computer display unit.
5. PCI GRAPHICS CARD
PCI video cards use PCI slots on your motherboard to connect with them. Although, PCI graphics
card are being used by user but they are losing popularity day by day.
Pci graphics card, pci video card
Many older motherboards are still using PCI graphics card. Many older motherboards have only
PCI slots to connect them.
For this there is still a reason to buy PCI video card.
7. AGP GRAPHICS CARD
AGP stands for Accelerated Graphics Port. AGP graphics card are named because they are also
connected with the PC via AGP slots.
Agp graphics card, agp video card
AGP gives more speed and they are more compatible than most cutting-edge video cards.
They were more popular in the early to mid 2000s, but now they are also losing their market.
AGP cards are not more used today because they are replaced by PCI Express. Most hardware builders
are not including AGP with their systems because of its losing of popularity.
9. PCI EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD
PCI express is the most advanced video card which is a standard of 2009. It has to connect with motherboard’s PCI-E slot.
Pci express graphcs card, pci express video card
They can be accelerated to 16x as well as a motherboard can connect with more than one PCI Express graphics card if it has extra
slot.
Then the speed will be same as the combine speed of all the graphics card.
PCI Express graphics cards have also compatibility problems. Some motherboards work better with a specific brand where some
shows problems if not planned properly.
Two largest manufacturer of PCI Express video cards are NVIDIA and ATI. Among three architecture of PCI Express, 3.0 is the
latest.
11. INTEGRATED GRAPHICS CARD
Integrated video cards are also called build in video cards. If your computer did not assemble by yourself
then certainly it uses an integrated graphics card to display images.
Integrated graphics card, integrated video card
They are also known as onboard graphics card. By default, they come with the standard motherboards.
Integrated graphics gives the lest powerful among all other technology we use today.
For this you need to upgrade your video card if you want to play some latest video games in your PC. We
can’t remove them physically but we can disable it in computer BIOS.
