This document discusses an invasive species of clam called the Asian clam that was last seen in Lake George. It covers a large area of over 2.5 acres with over 600 clams per square meter, exerting high amounts of nitrogen. The clams are about the size of a dime, mostly brown but sometimes tan, and resemble an upside down leaf when viewed from below. Efforts to control the clams involve placing mats in the water and cleaning boats to prevent further spread.
