17. Common Strategy - Objectives
To converge national policies toward common goals related to
sustainable water use, taking into account human
consumption needs, production activities, and ecosystems
protection.
To identify problems that make it difficult to implement
signed agreements for transboundary basin management and
to propose measures to overcome them;
To develop articulated actions and cooperation among
countries toward water management;
To strengthening national structures to attain Millennium
Development Goals.
18. Lessons Learned
Strengthening and harmonization of actions in projects
implemented in the same region;
Coordination of overlapping projects in an integrated way;
Need to internalize project management in the countries;
Improve institutional strengthening and stakeholder
training in water management as part of project
implementation;
Active promotion of horizontal cooperation and
information exchange;
Promotion participation and social accountability.
