They discovered that those who practice meditation regularly or partake in listening programs may have better memory functions and cognitive performances than those who don’t.

The Effect of Background Music to College Student’ Academic Performance
This document summarizes an empirical study conducted at De La Salle University that examined the effect of background music on college students' academic performance. The study used a sample of 35 random college students and collected data on their cumulative GPA, gender, time spent listening to music per week, time spent studying per week, and preference for pop music genres.
