Box jellyfish, found off the coast of Australia, have an intense venom produced by bacteria that can kill humans within minutes. Their venom attacks the heart, nervous system and skin cells, causing severe pain, shock or heart attack. More than 5000 people have died from box jellyfish stings in Australia since the 20th century. They have 24 eyes, 15 foot long tentacles containing millions of venom capsules that can fire upon contact with chemicals on surfaces.
