1) Four young men from Judah - Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah - were selected to be trained in Babylon after Nebuchadnezzar besieged Jerusalem. They were given Babylonian names but Daniel refused to eat the king's food which violated his faith. 2) Daniel asked to be fed vegetables and water for 10 days, which a steward allowed. After 10 days, Daniel and his friends looked healthier than those who ate the king's food. 3) God gave the four men wisdom and skills in both knowledge and life. Daniel especially could interpret visions and dreams. After their training, they far surpassed all the other men and served the king

The Biggest Story on the Planet
Adam and Eve were created in God's image but chose to disobey, devaluing the image and losing intimacy with God. Their descendants multiplied but became corrupt. Noah modeled God's character and fulfilled God's purpose along with his family. Later generations built communities apart from God, culminating in the Tower of Babel. God chose Abraham and the Israelites but they failed to be a blessing and copied other nations. King David was a foreshadowing of the Messiah but subsequent kings compromised. Jesus was the faithful image bearer who fulfilled prophecy and established God's kingdom through his death and resurrection. Believers now carry God's presence and purposes as they await the final establishment of the new heavens and new earth.

If you have ever had what has become known as a “panic attack,” take comfort in the fact that you are by no means alone.
A panic attack always comes with the acute sense of impending doom. You feel you are either about to lose your mind or one of your vital bodily functions is about to cease functioning and you will end your days right there among the canned goods and frozen food.
You are by no means alone; you’re not even one in a million. In America, it is estimated that almost 5% of the population suffer from some form of anxiety disorder. For some, it may be the infrequent panic attacks that only crop up in particular situations-like when having to speak in front of others, while, for other people, it can be so frequent and recurring that it inhibits them from leaving their home.
Frequent panic attacks often develop into what medical physicians refer to as an “anxiety disorder.”

3) King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that troubled him, but he could not remember it. He demanded that his magicians tell him both the dream and its interpretation, but they could not. Daniel received revelation from God of both the dream and its meaning.
Introduction to Daniel (Daniel Chapter 1)
Daniel was taken captive to Babylon along with other young men where they were to be trained and assimilated into Babylonian culture. They were given Babylonian names and fed the king's food, which likely included meat offered to idols. Daniel and his friends refused to eat the king's food or embrace the Babylonian names and lifestyle. God blessed them for their faithfulness by giving them superior understanding over the other trainees. During the third year of King Jehoiakim's reign in Judah, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. He took some of the sacred objects from the Temple of God back to Babylon. King Nebuchadnezzar then ordered some of the young men of Judah's royal family and other noble families be brought to the palace in Babylon to be trained for three years to serve the king.

God was in control of history and used Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to punish Israel for their impiety. Nebuchadnezzar took captives from Jerusalem to Babylon in 605 BC, 597 BC and finally destroyed Jerusalem in 586 BC. Daniel and his friends were among those taken to Babylon in 605 BC. They refused to compromise their faith by eating the king's food or worshipping idols. God rewarded their faithfulness by giving them superior wisdom and knowledge. Their example teaches us that God will give us wisdom to remain faithful to Him even in hostile environments, and that He will bless those who obey Him no matter the circumstances.
Daniel
King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream that disturbs him greatly. He demands that his magicians and wise men tell him both the dream and its meaning, but they are unable to do so. Daniel is able to interpret the dream, in which Nebuchadnezzar sees a large statue made of different metals that is destroyed by a rock becoming a mountain. Daniel explains that the statue represents future kingdoms, and the rock is the eternal kingdom of God that will crush all earthly kingdoms and reign forever. Nebuchadnezzar is impressed and elevates Daniel to a high position.

Feb.21.2016 -Sunday Message - Fasting the Daniel Way
1. Daniel and his friends fasted from the king's food and wine at Babylon for 10 days to test if a vegetarian diet from God would make them healthier.
2. God blessed their acceptable fasting with godly character, 10 times better understanding than magicians, good health, and success before the king.
3. The Daniel Fast involves 3 levels - sheep (no meat/soft drinks), deer (half usual rice intake), and lion (veggies/fruits only). Our 90DC fasting is March 1-30 to fast for our 12 habits success, personal requests, and conquest.

God gave Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah knowledge and wisdom despite Nebuchadnezzar's attempts to paganize them. The enemies of Judah and Benjamin heard that the exiles were rebuilding the Temple of the LORD in Jerusalem. They approached the leaders and offered to help with the rebuilding. However, their real intention was to discourage and frustrate the work. They bribed officials to work against the rebuilding efforts and wrote letters to the king accusing the Jews of rebellion. The enemies did not want the walls of Jerusalem rebuilt in case it diminished tribute and taxes paid to the king.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

- 7. It was the third year of King Jehoiakim’s reign in Judah when King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon declared war on Jerusalem and besieged the city. The Master handed King Jehoiakim of Judah over to him, along with some of the furnishings from the Temple of God. Nebuchadnezzar took king and furnishings to the country of Babylon, the
- 8. ancient Shinar. He put the furnishings in the sacred treasury. 3–5 The king told Ashpenaz, head of the palace staff, to get some Israelites from the royal family and nobility—young men who were healthy and handsome, intelligent and well-educated, good prospects for leadership positions in the
- 9. government, perfect specimens!—and indoctrinate them in the Babylonian language and the lore of magic and fortunetelling. The king then ordered that they be served from the same menu as the royal table—the best food, the finest wine. After three years of training they would be given positions in the king’s court.

- 14. 6–7 Four young men from Judah—Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah—were among those selected. The head of the palace staff gave them Babylonian names: Daniel was named Belteshazzar, Hananiah was named Shadrach, Mishael was named Meshach, Azariah was named Abednego.
- 15. 8–10 But Daniel determined that he would not defile himself by eating the king’s food or drinking his wine, so he asked the head of the palace staff to exempt him from the royal diet. The head of the palace staff, by God’s grace, liked Daniel, but he warned him, “I’m afraid of what my master the king will do. He is the one who assigned
- 16. this diet and if he sees that you are not as healthy as the rest, he’ll have my head!” 11–13 But Daniel appealed to a steward who had been assigned by the head of the palace staff to be in charge of Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: “Try us out for ten days on a simple diet of vegetables and water. Then compare us with the
- 17. young men who eat from the royal menu. Make your decision on the basis of what you see.” 14–16 The steward agreed to do it and fed them vegetables and water for ten days. At the end of the ten days they looked better and more robust than all the others who had been eating from the royal menu
- 18. So the steward continued to exempt them from the royal menu of food and drink and served them only vegetables.

- 29. 19–20 And so they took their place in the king’s service. Whenever the king consulted them on anything, on books or on life, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his kingdom put together. 21 Daniel continued in the king’s service until the first year in the reign of King Cyrus.
