It desires a business intelligence system to generate a dashboard of key performance indicators. The system shall gather data from multiple financial and operational systems into a data warehouse to present the KPIs on a daily basis. Body Media’s executive staff meets weekly and reports on KPI. Currently, these metrics are generated semi-manually by merging reports from various systems through spreadsheets, etc. These reports are suspect to human errors and severely limited in depth and scope. The system would be used to provide more reliable and diverse KPIs to make weekly business decisions. The system would also be used to analyze different problems / questions on an ad-hoc basis.ImplementationRequirementsQuality: Quality Analysis KPIs - Total number of complaints and inquiries received - Complaints by product - Complaints by investigation codeMarketing: Improved Marketing and Promotion KPIsCustomers: - Customer complaints/inquiries trending - New customers per month -based on subscription data - Loss of customers by month, renewals by month - Demographics on customers: gender, age, geographical locationDesign Decisions - Database: MySQL - ETL: Pentaho Kettle - Reporting: Pentaho Reporting - OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux - Data Warehouse: Pentaho Mondrian- Development Environment: EclipseSales / Finance - Sales by month - Sales by channel - Sales by demographics Data Warehouse Architecture*Results : ReportingDW Schema DesignETL TransformationReport GenerationResults : ExplorationOLAP EngineNumber of Complaints by StatusNumber of Cases by MonthNumber of Complaints by ProductFinance*Customer Demographics*New Customers by MonthNew Customers by GenderRenewals by MonthRevenue by ChannelRevenue by MonthLoss Of Customers by Month*Images and Architecture Courtesy: Prof. John Shantz - IT for Decision Support Systems at Carnegie Mellon University
