Incorporate Firstbeat Lifestyle Assessment for preventive corporate healthShorombo Mooij
Firstbeat Lifestyle Assessment is an unique tool to give people real scientifically proven insights into their stress and recovery balance, sleep quality and the impact of their lifestyle choices. It gives people tangible data which motivates them to really improve their lifestyle. Big companies as EY, Heineken, KPMG, BMW already incorporate this into their wellness programs.
Differing from moderate-intensity aerobic exercise, high-intensity interval training
(HIIT) consists of alternating short periods of intense exercise with recovery
periods of passive or mild-intensity movement. Typically, the work intervals last
from 15 seconds to 4 minutes and approach 80% to 95% of an individual’s
maximum heart rate. Recovery intervals are generally equal to or slightly longer
than the intense work interval and consist of passive rest or mild activity at 40% to
50% of the maximum heart rate. The combined work/rest interval commonly is
repeated 6 to 10 times. Thus, the total HIIT exercise time ranges from 10 to 40 or
more minutes depending on the actual duration of the work and rest periods

This is Dr. Mike Young's presentation on Planning Speed Training for Team Sports from the 2015 Southwest Speed Summit. Dr. Young is the owner and Director of Performance at Athletic Lab sports performance training center. He has served as the fitness coach for 2 North American professional soccer clubs and consults for teams and schools in various other capacities. In this presentation, Dr. Young discussed the best practices for planning speed training sessions in the context of a team setting.
EFFECTS OF HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING AND HIGH VOLUME ENDURANCE TRAINING Fernando Farias
Maximal aerobic capacity increased significantly
in both the HIIT and HVET group in
response to the 6 week training program, and the percentage improvement was
similar (7%)
in both groups.
There was no change in CMJ, CMJ flight time or 5 m speed in either group in
response to training. Compared to baseline, performance in the VJ and 20 m sprint
decreased significantly in the HVET group following the 6 week train
ing program, and did
not change in the HIIT group. Average power and peak power during the fifth and sixth
cycling test increased and the rate of fatigue decreased in the HIIT group only.

What if there is no killer app for wearables?Valencell, Inc
There are likely to be hundreds use cases for wearables across many different industries and markets that wearables will enable. The form factors, data, and user interfaces will likely be very different, but the key is to understand that the wearable devices are one part of a comprehensive user experience that supports achieving specific goals or objectives. Even the most common current use case - fitness and activity tracking - is being vastly underserved by the offerings in the market today because they lack a compelling user experience. And it’s critical we get those objectives and user experiences right if the wearables market is going to realize the massive growth that many are predicting in the next few years.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Generating a custom Ruby SDK for your web service or Rails API using Smithyg2nightmarescribd
Have you ever wanted a Ruby client API to communicate with your web service? Smithy is a protocol-agnostic language for defining services and SDKs. Smithy Ruby is an implementation of Smithy that generates a Ruby SDK using a Smithy model. In this talk, we will explore Smithy and Smithy Ruby to learn how to generate custom feature-rich SDKs that can communicate with any web service, such as a Rails JSON API.

4. WHY WEARABLES?
• Measure the Individual (get data)
• to Influence Behaviors
• for better Health and/or Performance
5. Actionable for behavioral change?
• Measures must relate either directly to a health
condition, or to a factor influencing such condition
• Must have predictive value
• For consistent experience
• The feedback must be understandable and presented in
a meaningful context related to the task
• Otherwise there is no “fit for the job”
• Analytics is necessary to deliver both of the above
6. • Heart rate variability (HRV) refers to
beat-by-beat changes in heart rate
• HRV is mediated by autonomic nervous
system (ANS)
• Different body functions influence HRV.
We use HRV as a window to map
underlying physiology
• Firstbeat creates a digital model of key
physiological functions

Aerobic Fitness is measured as maximal oxygen
uptake (VO2max)
VO2max is the golden standard for aerobic fitness
• Amount of oxygen body is able to utilize in
maximal exercise
• Indicates the condition of body and especially
cardiovascular and circulatory systems
• VO2max has been traditionally measured in a
laboratory test
