• BLU-RAY (BD) IS A NEW OPTICAL DISK STORAGE STANDARD OR
DIGITAL OPTICAL DISK DATA STORAGE FORMAT DESIGNED TO
SUPPRESS THE DIGITAL VERSATILE DISK (DVD) FORMAT.
• THE NAME BLU-RAY REFERS TO THE BLUE LASER USED TO READ THE
DISK.
• LARGE RECORDING CAPACITY UP TO 27 GB & HIGH SPEED DATA
TRANSFER RATE 36 MBPS.
• IT IS CAPABLE OF STORING HIGH-DEFINITION VIDEO RESOLUTION
(1080P).
• THE PLASTIC DISK IS 120 M IN DIAMETER & 1.2 MM THICK, THE SAME
SIZE AS DVDS & CDS.
