This document provides guidance on equitable board recruitment by outlining agreements for respectful discussion, posing six questions for organizations to consider regarding their diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, and giving an example scenario for beginning a board meeting focused on this topic. The six questions address whether the board has discussed their reasons for diversifying, whether board leaders are willing to share power, how well board composition represents stakeholders, the ability to have difficult conversations, understanding of the community served, and expanding recruitment networks.
