What are “Blogs”? A blog is typically a web-base journal entry that contains information on a specific topic. Most that are published are personal while others can share ideas, offer tutorials, and educate viewers on a certain subject matter. It is presented or arranged in the order in which events occur or have occurred…
… In other words, those who create blogs usually update them on a day to day basis which can be related to their own personal lives, political views or even collective comments by other viewers. There are a variety of blogs such as photoblogs, video blogging, podcasting, MP3 blogs and microblogging which includes very short posts.
Teachers can utilize blogs for outlines, assignments, and resources for their students in the class. Students are then able to respond to the teacher’s activities and resources, and evaluate the work of their peers. In addition, blogs offer students, faculty and staff a high level of independence while constructing a new way of interacting among one another. Students have the ability to post comments on discussion boards where they can learn as much from each other as possible by exchanging different opinions and ideas.
Blogs are recommended for all types of learners: interpersonal, intrapersonal, visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or multimodal.
