Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
2. What is a Blog exactly?
A blog is a discussion or informational website published on the World
Wide Web.
A blog (short for “weblog”) is an online journal or informational website run by an individual,
group, or corporation that offers regularly updated content (blog post) about a topic. It presents
information in reverse chronological order and it's written in an informal or conversational style.
3. Why is blog writing important?
Here are some points which make blog writing important for writer as well as the
reader.

- Express yourself and share your passions.
- Share interesting information about various topics.
- Refine your writing skills.
- Improving your knowledge by writing it down

- Gain new knowledge
- Improve vocabulary
- To understand the other side of the story
4. How to write a
blog? (step wise)
Step 1 : Plan your blog post by choosing
a topic, creating an outline, conducting
research and checking facts.
Step 2 : Give it an attractive title.
Step 3 : Draft a headline that is both
informative and will capture the reader’s
attention.
Step 4 : Have an introduction, lead and
concluding paragraph that sums up the
blog post. Add your personal experience.
Step 5 : Use images to enhance your
post, improve its flow, add humour, and
explain complex topics. Use short
paragraphs, simple and short sentences
and words.

Before you do any of the following
steps, be sure to pick a topic that
actually interests you. Nothing will
kill a blog post more effectively
than a lack of enthusiasm from the
writer. You can tell when a writer is
bored by their subject, and it’s so
cringe-worthy it’s a little
embarrassing.
7. Step: 1 - Research
After choosing the topic you should
back your points with proofs based
on your research, this will give
more importance to your writing.
This also ensures that the reader
has full confidence on your writings
and maintains his interest on your
blog
8. Step: 2 - Give an attractive Title
Why Catchy Headlines Matter.
The title of your article is the all-
important first impression of your
content for readers. A strong title
communicates that your post
has the information readers are
looking for, while also standing
out from the crowd
9. Step: 3 - Draft a headline
A catchy headline can reflect the
actual value of the content. By
asking questions readers get more
engaged in the blog also by using
numbers in the headline grabs the
attention of the reader.
By being concise and to the point
will help the reader understand the
topic
10. Step: 4 - Introduction paragraph
Your title sells the click.
Your introduction sells the read.
If your introduction doesn’t motivate
readers to make that all-important scroll
down, you lose them. You put in the hard
work creating your content. Nailing the
introduction makes sure your content gets
the attention those efforts deserve.
11. Step: 4 - Adding your personal experience
The Benefits of Writing About Your
Personal Experiences
It's not only a great way to express
yourself, but it also gives your
readers an insight into who you
are as a person. The main benefit of
writing about your experiences is that
you can share your knowledge and
help others.
12. Step: 5 - Writing short paragraphs, sentences & inserting images
By writing short paragraphs and
sentences you can retain the attention of
the reader.By this it is less likely that the
reader will get bored easily.Also it makes
the blog look clean and professional
By adding colorful and attractive images
you can make the blog attractive. Images

words it adds color to your blog
