2. Keep identities of all family/friends,
referred to in the posts, guarded.
Always use nicknames instead of actual
names.
Reason: You just don’t realize how much you give away about people when
you talk about them. You just don’t realize who may be reading it either,
and with what intentions as well!
3. It is so tempting to copy those amazing
pictures found on Google Images.
BEWARE. The copyright vines are too tight
and beyond escape.
Create all images that you post.
Well, copying is not so much bad when you
give them their credits for it!!
4. It is always nice to thank every
encouragement that you get for your post .
It is always courteous to answer every
single question that gets asked.
5. Read, Read, Read voraciously before you
write about it.
Read, Read, Read before you post what you
have written.
6. Make no Spelling mistakes.
Make no Grammar mistakes.
Make no Punctuation errors.
Make no Tense mismatches.
Make no ‘Person usage’ clashes.
Always decide on who is the speaker(I/ He/
She), and who is the audience (you/ me/ my
alter ego).
7. Be regular with your posts. If this is what you
are looking at, to be good at whatever your goal
is – be it writing/ learning/ teaching/ keeping
in touch.
Be consistent.
Set yourself a goal and don’t miss it. (unless
you cant help it or unless of course you are
doing something extraordinary!)
8. Keep your posts short.
Keep your paragraphs small.
Keep your sentences simple.
Keep your fonts decent.
Keep your line spacings at 1.5 lines.
Nobody has a lot of time to spend on reading
your posts. Make it a breeze for them.
9. Text, Text and only text seems like a text
book.
Make it different - A simple picture, A short
video, A small audio clip, A catchy
presentation. Any/All of these are most
welcome.
10. Have you noticed how many times you
might have to pull yourself to concentrate
on what you are writing? The mind keeps
wandering off, suggesting a 100 different
ideas.
Well, keep a note of all those ideas too but
never let them clutter or influence your
present post.
End it right where you started!
11. Give credits where they are due, but do keep
in mind that everything touched by you
should carry your signature style to it.
Make it ‘YOURS’.
12. Keep it ad-free, pop-up free, promotion-free,
It is your blog, your writing space.
So, be possessive about who gets to be on it.
13. Write what you wish to read.
Present it the way you would love to see.
Writing is a joy in itself, so enjoy it when you
write it and enjoy when you come back to
read it.
