Abstract
Human–computer interaction is a discipline concerned with the design, evaluation and implementation of interactive computing systems for human use. The field formally emerged out of computer science, cognitive psychology and industrial design through the 1960s, formulating guidelines for the development of interactive computer systems highlighting usability concerns for improved interfaces. Computing devices are becoming more prevalent and integrated into both our social and work spaces.HCI therefore plays an important role in ensuring that computer systems are not only functional but also respect the needs and capabilities of the humans that use them.
HCI encompasses not only ease of use but also new interaction techniques. It involves input and output devices and the interaction techniques that use them; presentation of information, control and monitoring of computer’s actions and the processes that developers follow when creating interfaces. In this seminar, emphasis is laid on the movement of a user’s eyes which can provide a convenient, natural, and high-bandwidth source of additional user input. Some of the human factors and technical considerations that arise in trying to use eye movements as an input medium and the first eye movement-based interaction techniques are discussed in this section.

Augmented Reality in Multi-Dimensionality: Design for Space, Motion, Multiple...Shalin Hai-Jew
Augmented reality (AR)—the use of digital overlays over physical space—manifests in a wide range of spaces (indoor, outdoor; virtual) and ways (in real space (with unaided human vision); in head gear; in smart glasses; on mobile devices, and others). There are various authoring technologies that enable the making of AR experiences for various users. This work uses a particular tool (Adobe Aero®) to explore ways to build AR for multiple dimensions, including the fourth dimension (motion, changes over time).
Based on the respective purposes of the AR experience, some basic heuristics are captured for
space design (1),
motion design (2),
multiple perception design (sight, smell, taste, sound, touch) (3),
and virtual- and tangible- interactivity (4).
This is my Portfolio which includes just a few of my favorite projects out of the 30+ that I have developed during my time in college. The portfolio exemplifies my product design, 3D design, product development, and medical device knowledge/skills.

The tutorial aims to provide a practical guide to conduct mobile field studies based on the learning outcomes of the research I've been involved in while working as a Research Scientist in Telefonica Research, Barcelona. I cover how to design effective mobile field studies, the importance of mobile prototyping, the impact of various design choices on the study setup and deployment, how to engage participants and how to avoid ethical and legal issues. I've also tried to include listings of useful resources for those who are interested in conducting mobile field studies of their own.

• One
of
the
modes
of
interac?on
in
AbES
is
audio-‐based
gaming.
We
intended
for
users
to
be
able
to
play
and
enjoy
the
game
and
in
doing
so,
learn
to
navigate
their
surrounding
environment,
get
to
know
and
understand
the
space,
its
dimensions
and
the
corresponding
objects.
• We
hope
that
the
results
to
be
obtained
in
our
ongoing
research
will
shed
some
light
on
the
brain
mechanisms
associated
with
naviga?on
performance
and
learning
over
?me
with
blind
users
interac?ng
with
audiobased
interfaces
such
as
AbES.
• Learning
how
the
brain
and
related
sensory
mechanisms
provide
structure
for
naviga?on
in
blind
users,
and
what
areas
are
associated
with
the
skill

naviga?ng
through
space

learning
