 There is a big switching on of the entire
lighting of Blackpool and the switch is
thrown by a celebrity. Last year the switch
was thrown by Matt Smith (the 11th
Doctor). When all the lights are turned on,
the town celebrate by singing, dancing,
drinking and lots more.

4. Funding
 Theilluminations is all paid for by the
counsel in Blackpool. They provide the
money to decorate the town with lights
and they get the money back by
increasing the tax’s for that area. Clever!
