The basics of this theory is that human being ‘s development is
influenced by many different context, setting, or ecology.
Example of things that can influence
development
• Family
• Peers
• School
• Communities
• Sociocultural belief system
• Economy e.t.c
This factors are grouped into
• Microsystem
• Mesosystem
• Exosystem
• Macrosystem
• Chronosystem

• Microsystem-things that impact human's development directly.
E.g. family and school.
Mesosystem- things that have interaction with those surrounding an
individual, but also it can have an impact to himher indirectly.
Exosystem- looks for interaction with large institution, such as mass
media
Macrosystem-we find cultural values and beliefs

• Chronosystem- change of cultural values over time as well as policies
of educational institution or government can also influence one’s
development.
